Every time I call or go into the branch in Frankfort I am met with friendly, very helpful bankers. They take the time to explain and answer any questions I have. They have fantastic savings, CD, and checking options. Their online banking is very easy to use. And, unlike other banks, they have coin counters for my kids to turn in their change without having to pay a fee. Thank you!

Their ATM is always down. The deposit check function on it hasn’t worked for months and there’s no fix in sight. If you are a bank, your ATM should function for regular customers, instead of making them drive to Frankfort for their ATM.

Long story short make sure you get your account numbers before you leave the bank. We opened two accounts and got a ton of paper work. Got home and didn't have account numbers. I call she said thats internal information. So I got her bosses name and had a conversation with her. She straightened her out fast. Before we left the bank I said didn't you forget something.? She never asked us for our driver's license as I'd. Ohhhhh she said yes can I see them. We could have been imposters.

If I could give zero stars, I would. AVOID this bank. After 4 months of working with an individual he and his boss were unable to deliver a mortgage or any sort of proof that he even started working on our loan. Any time we called he said "we're working on it and will reach out if we need anything". My husband and I figured it was being handled but NOTHING was getting done. The team here is completely incompetent. After the bank dropping the ball on this, they decided to send us to another bank who was fully equipped and eager to handle our needs. Their, CEO Paul Slade is similar to Mr Potter or Ebenezer Scrooge. For a construction loan or mortgage stay FAR away!!!! AVOID!

My husband and I are bank founders having been account holders for 30 years. We have had and currently do have ample cash reserves on deposit to cover any oversight by us. We have never had an issue with an account in those 30 years of business at the bank... We received a stimulus payment for our institutionalized son, which was properly endorsed, and intended for deposit only. The bank manager, Jennifer, approved the deposit. After contact with the manager, no bank employee or officer contacted either of us explaining that approval had been withdrawn. After several days, my husband contacted the CEO Paul Slade. Mr. Slade controls the assets of a bank with multimillion dollar assets. He claimed that the Patriot Act specifically denies the bank authority to negotiate a stimulus payment for an institutionalized individual when it is properly endorsed and drawn upon the US Treasury. My husband is a 75 year old veteran and was injured seriously during the Vietnam War. If either of us or our son were a terrorist, surely our nation would not pay him a monthly stipend for said injuries.. My husband was a federal employee, a federal loan officer, and supervisor of loan and property operations for a large federal agency and said Patriot Act does not prohibit a bank from negotiating a stimulus payment drawn to the order of an institutionalized individual. The language is fairly generic but was created and intended to stop funding to a terrorist. Institutionalized people cannot operate as a terrorist's and parents of this institutionalized individual are well respected member of our community. Now one would think that the Board of Directors of Old Plank Trail Bank, Mokena,, IL would retain the services of a more knowledgeable CEO. Rather one that serves his own private agenda, whatever that may be. By publishing this comment, we ask Edward J. Wehmer, Ex Officio Director, Founder & CEO, Wintrust Financial Corp. and other board members, why the assets of such a large community bank have been placed in the hands of Mr. Slade who has demonstrated a lack of knowledge of the Patriot Act, and contends on the Internet that Mr. Slade serves our community's best interest.

This bank is behind the times, they encourage you to sign up for online banking but do not have the ability to service the online banking customer.

Jason Brown is the senior loan officer for Wintrust Mortgage. We recently bought our dream home, and couldn't have done it without Jason. After living at our in-laws for several months, it was time to pre-approved. We wanted to work with someone who had experienced, and understood how important this was to us. There was very small window to get our loan processed. Jason and Wintrust team got it done smoothly. If anyone is looking for a mortgage advisor that will help you every step of the way, and make sure your closing goes smoothly, please contact Jason Brown. My wife and I couldn't be more happy!

I've been using Old Plank in Mokena for over 10 years now. For a wide variety of banking needs I've been able to get great service. The bankers remember my name and a lot of my unique scenarios. Their response to big, public data breaches has always swiftly protected me and my account - especially in comparison with friends I've had who were exposed and not protected by their big name banks as efficiently or with as great of ease of mind.
