My significant other and I use to absolutely love Super 8 in Mokena. Staff was extremely accommodating every time we were there, however as time went on, this all changed. It is pet friendly yet they charge $45 per night per pet. Rooms are okay , yet they no longer have a microwave, however you can use the one down in the main lobby. Quiet and good for location on our end...however we will not be returning due to the change in friendliness and the outrageous prices for a 2 star hotel.

Multiple health code violations noted upon arrival. First room had a strong black mold odor and the bathroom appeared to have dried feces on the walls, pubic hair on the bath tub. Second room had some type of substances splashed on the walls, appeared to be human excrement , broken outlet covers, and some black substance on the walls and lamps. Bathroom walls were filthy and the room smelled fouls although not like black mold as the first room.
We were charged for the 4day reservation that we canceled. Continue to be told that the manager is unavailable and will call us back as soon as he gets in. This has not happened and we’ve been trying to reach him for almost 2 weeks. A report was filed with Wyndham management and details shared with them and we were also told that they will not be reimbursing us. Report has been filed with the department of health in Illinois and the Better Business Bureau

Worst experience ever!!!!
Dont book here. Rooms were dirty, plugs were not working. Entire hotel was smelling so bad. There was a old indian guy workong at the desk, he was extremely rude. They dont wash bad sheets and all until it has been used for three days in the name of water saving. If so, why the hell you guys are charging 80$ per night, this should be 20$ per night.
Bullshit hotel ever!!!!!!

This place is a dumpster, the rooms are filty, amenities such as soap and shampoo is not provided on a daily basis, the room itself is just at bear minimum. When I was there the roof in the hallway was leaking from rain, and no staff around to even place a bucket under the flow of rain water. They just let it flow on the carpet and left it like that to rot and mold.
They advertise breakfast which is also a joke. This is yogurt, milk, oatmeal, coffee and horribly sweet cinnamon bread. No egg, no protein, no fruit. Most of the time you had to ask as they place only limited amout of coffee out.

hands down the most disgusting motel I've ever stayed in. everything in the room was water damaged and musty. I'm laying here unable to sleep because everything just feels sticky and damp. They made me pay $150 deposit in cash, even though I booked with a credit card direct with them, because they couldn't figure out how to run my credit card for the deposit.

The absolute worst experience I’ve had with any hotel. Don't book here.
1, location:
I was solicited to immediately after parking (not the door to door kind) right in front of my fiancé and kid. It was late and we were tired so we stayed.
2, cost:
I have three dogs with me (moving across country) and they charged over 100$ for pet fees along with a 100$ pet deposit AND a 150$ damage deposit. This is on top of the standard 145$ fee. So about 500 dollars down up front. I bit the bullet and paid even though we stayed at a la Quinta in Nebraska the night prior for 150$ with the dogs. Way nicer place.
3, quality:
That musty smell everyone is talking about is black mold. And immediately upon opening the doors to our room a large waft of stale tobacco smoke scent steamrolled us. The second “bed” was a foldable leather bench with cigarette burns. We immediately found a new hotel and left after the 15 minutes it took us to do so.
4, service (Brenda is awful):
Upon requesting a refund, the lady at the front desk said no problem but I would have to talk to the manager (Brenda) between 10am and 1:30pm the next day. After calling Brenda on her shift, I was told “the hotel has been smoke free for three years” (as if I was lying) and she would have to contact the lady on duty who I had dealt with the night before. I called back an hour later and asked if she had contacted the employee. Brenda got snippy with me saying the employee would be relieving her of her shift at 2pm. I asked her “am I going to get refunded or not?” and she said “yes I just need to talk with the staff from last night” despite the clear notes about our “stay” the gal had left.
It became clear that she was just avoiding my request when I called after 2 and a man (not the employee from the night before) answered notifying me that I got a half refund and that Brenda (who was conveniently gone) is the one who makes those decisions. So I got my pet fee back… thanks Brenda. When I asked where the lady from the previous night was he said she wasn’t working. So Brenda lied, not surprising at this point.
Do not stay here. I am appealing charges through my bank and to all of the Brenda’s in the world, get bent.

This is an average value hotel. Room was abit musty smelling and i found the reason why .when I walked into the bathroom and saw that the tub above us had been leaking on the ceiling and had not yet been fixed i knew the culprit. We just shut the bathroom door and turned on the fan and the musty smell went away because it was contained. Overall a decent place to stop , sleep , shower and leave. Nothing fancy at all but you get what u pay for and for less then 100 bucks for the night it was good. I wouldnt spend anymore the that. Dennys is right across the street. This Denny’s is a nice clean location.

The night clerk was wonderful. The rooms were good, comfortable beds, clean. The hotel itself is dated, and not enough towels but overall good experience

It's fine, but a tad dingy. The rooms are dated and the whole place has a musty smell to it, but it appeared to be clean. It's not bad considering it costs about 40% less than anything else in the area.
The lady at the front desk was friendly and accommodating.
Convenient location with easy access to local restaurants as well as fast food. If staying for an event at the amphitheater, it's less than a 10 minute drive and you'll avoid most of the traffic that swarms Harlem Ave.
Did not care for the $150 deposit at check in. Seems overkill considering that's double the price I paid for the room...
Noteworthy details: $150 deposit at check in
