Small, but great variety! The fresh meats are great and the food is fantastic. Stop in the restaurant in the back for a delicious meal! We’ll be back!

I've been ordering food here for the last while and it. is. awesome!!! I usually get the big quesadilla without jalapenos and grilled chicken with the rice and beans. Oh my gosh, I can't help myself but get the same thing every time. I highly highly HIGHLY recommend the food here. It's always prepared so well and just the right combo of veggies. Thanks!! :)

If you order a week in advance for tamales, don't expect them to actually fulfill the order.

One of the more authentic places, whether you're looking for Mexican groceries or take-out food. Though their menu offering is somewhat light, all of the staple foods are there (burritos, tacos, tortas). Meat offerings are your standard fare, limited vegetarian options. However, for all that they sell, price, quality, flavor, texture, portion size, and consistency are excellent. As a trained butcher and skilled cook myself, i can proudly say that I am repeat customer for their take-out.

Best chips and salsa in the Midwest. Also the best horchata. I could make a meal out of just those two things here. But their chalupas are excellent, as are their quesadillas. Reasonable prices and excellent service.

We wanted some vegetables for our green chili and decided to try La Primavera. They have moved their store and restaurant down a block from their original location. We were able to get what we wanted and then ordered a couple of carnitas tacos with a corn tortilla. The tacos were good but the tortilla was disappointing. It was somewhat dried out from sitting on the flat top too long, the carnitas were flavorful with a couple of tough pieces thrown in. Overall a good visit and will likely stop again. Currently there is no inside sitting to eat bc of Covid-19.

It's hard to eat anything else when there are luscious fried and stuffed gorditas on the menu, but I also did try the pozole - also delicious - and a taco - yummy. I tried the tongue, which I expected to be tough or odd, but it was even better then the asada, which was very good. They have a few veggie choices, such as mushrooms, and were good about not giving me any dairy or onions, which make me sick. The salsa bar has maybe 6 fresh, tasty salsas that we mixed to get not-to-hot salsa. The employees are all kind (and at the meat counter nearby you can buy a pound of REAL beige lard that is not homogenized or treated to be bright white and fake-tasting (plus they sell homemade chorizo!)

I have had many frustrations with this place but this was the last straw. We have frequented the grocery store and the restaurant. The restaurant is a no-frill place. I once went to eat there this summer with my dad and we ordered tacos. The lady brought out just one order of tacos for me. My dad had to let her know that he also made an order of tacos with her and she acted like she didn't know that he wanted to eat also! Fast forward to a few months later and now I am shopping in the grocery store. They have this silly rule that you have to spend $10 in order to use your debit/credit card. Most of the time when you shop in these Mexican grocery stores you do not exceed $10 when you just need to buy a few things. However, apparently this store feels the need to put a $10 minimum on card purchases. We're in the year 2020 now, not many people have cash on them anymore and this store needs to be realistic. Not everyone wants to spend $10 either when they are just stopping through to pick up just a few items. Needless to say I will not be going back here. My suggestion is put a $5 minimum on debit/credit card purchases and you will gain more business. Oh, and work on your customer service skills as well. I moved here from Chicago and have been to many Mexican grocery stores so I am not new to this process of shopping in stores like this. I am honestly appalled at how difficult it has been to just stop by to get tacos or to purchase a few items in the grocery store. My hope is that changes. Mostly for the owners. I do want to see them succeed however as a customer it has been very frustrating.

Amazing tacos! Being from the DC area and traveling a lot especially the east coast these are probably the best I’ve ever had and I imagine they are the best in town!
