“This place is the genuine article. My spouse & I came in 5 minutes before closing, rushing and hoping we could make it in time just to see the place(we live out of state) before it closed. We were greeted by the sweetest 89-year-old Mr. Kelly Skinner(co-owner) and he didn't mind at all that we stayed over and purchased some really pretty glassware(including a Patisserie Glass Serving Stand). The building itself has a history, as does this gentleman who has been running this place for many, many years. It did not feel commercialized like an "Antique Mall" at all; rather, it felt like one of those rare little genuine antique shops(which is indeed what it is). The guy re-does the wiring on all the antique light fixtures because he says he wants to make sure whoever buys them is safe. He does not take credit card, cash only, and when he rang us up he used an actual hand calculator and wrote up a handwritten bill of sale with one of those cash registers that go "ding!" like something out of an old movie. For the one reviewer on here that said they were upset the place was not open as advertised, the co-owners travel occasionally and when they're gone there is no one to run the shop(it's literally just them who run it) so it will not be open. Mr. Skinner told us that if someone is like us and wants to visit but doesn't live locally, just call ahead to make sure they will be there. Lovely service, great selection, and can I repeat "genuine."”
