Yesterday, my husband tested positive for Covid and needed to pickup his medicine, paxlovid. Our household is very high risk. We take getting Covid very serious and do not want the same experience we had the first time around (i was on a ventilator for 8 days and in the hospital for 26 in 2021-2022). The ladies at the pharmacy were very rude and difficult. I understand that this medicine is very expensive but that is why we carry decent insurance and to be honest the dr prescribed it based on the our high risk. Also, i tested positive the day before and got the medicine with no problems at walgreens in Clinton with our after insurance cost being $30, kirby's after insurance cost was $75. My husband asked the question and the lady respond with "and what?" Note to the ladies at the pharmacy, please remember, you see people everyday that may be going through or have been through something very life changing/difficult. The reason they are there is because they need medicine to get better or at least help them in some way. Be good and be good to each other. Someone may show you that same grace someday when you need it. Thank you.

I switched from Walgreens to KirbyRx because Walgreens lost my trust when they could not get the correct quantity of pills in the bottle 6 times in a row. Unfortunately, KirbyRx also messed this up and gave me 3 extra Meloxicam - 13 on script for 10. That's a pretty big slip. I did not discover this for over 2 weeks, so I never said anything. In fact, I've never once complained or expressed displeasure to a single staff member there ever about a single thing. I have no other pharmacy options in Monticello, so I want my interactions here to be as positive as is possible. That's why I've debated about leaving this review since my name is visible and I already feel like they don't treat me very well, but after my interaction on the phone yesterday and today, I don't really care. I don't know if they just specifically don't like me, but they are very curt and have an unpleasant tone on the phone once I say who I am. There's never been a conflict or incident that would explain that, so it makes me feel judged and uncomfortable. I often believe it is because I am on public aid and pay nothing out of pocket for my prescriptions, but thats just me trying to explain things to myself. Anyway, it doesn't matter who answers, they sound fully annoyed to have to answer my question. Yesterday I called to check and see if both prescriptions were ready (I don't think they understand that their email and text alert systems don't consistently actually work, which is why I have to call) and the woman that answered my call sounded downright disgusted with me. When I asked a follow up question, her tone was so condescending and disrespectful when she answered that I almost wanted to respond in kind. I'm SO puzzled because I try SO hard to sound as pleasant and smiley as I can to get a similar response from others but it doesn't work here. The last piece of the puzzle is that they (almost) always put a piece of candy in the bag with your prescription. Except they fully stopped ever doing that last year whenever I myself pick my stuff up. I'm there 1-2x a month and Ive gotten a piece of candy MAYBE once in the last year. BUT If I send my husband to pick up my scripts, he gets one if not several pieces of candy every time, with MY prescriptions. Let me be clear- It's not about the candy...it's about what the withholding of the candy MEANS,if anything. That combined with my other experiences just seems to support that this isn't random.
Maybe I just have the worst luck and bad timing; maybe this is a series of unfortunate coincidences, but it really does feel like I'm just getting treated like I'm not liked or welcome.

Great pharmacist. We went in because it was one of the only places that had the nasal mist flu vaccine last year so our kiddo wouldn't have to suffer through the fear of getting a shot. And he was so nice with her, gave her a Kleenex and a lollipop afterwards and everything. And the tech even chatted with her to help ease her in and make her feel safe. Nice small town feel. Recommended 100%
