My family (4 drivers) has been going to Midwest for a long time now and the service price and speed is great. One of my kids who lives in Michigan is planning on bringing their car to Midwest to fix her brakes since they can't find someone near them that they trust. Great job, Midwest Auto!

Great Work, But Watch for Extra Charges
I took my 1999 Land Cruiser in for a harmonic balancer replacement. The job was done well, and I was satisfied with the quality of the work. However, they were not upfront with the pricing and didn’t provide an itemized receipt until after I asked for it — after they had already requested payment.
Here’s what happened:
1. $67.50 for inspecting the serpentine belt – one that I had told them needed to be replaced. I had to request that this charge be removed.
2. $70 for a serpentine belt – I found it online for $40.
3. $67.50 for cleaning pulleys(??) – This should have been included in the job.
In my experience, most reputable mechanics provide a full cost breakdown before starting the work. This shop didn’t give me one until I asked and tried to charge me without showing me the detailed receipt first. It feels like they depend on customers trusting their skills to slip in extra charges.
If you don’t ask for a detailed estimate upfront, you might end up paying for unnecessary extras. Always get a full breakdown of costs before they start working.

My daughter referred me to Midwest Auto and I am glad she did. They got us in fairly quickly. I dropped the car off the night before my appointment and had my diagnosis by 2 PM.
While the news was exactly what I didn't want to hear, Jeff and his staff were professional, knowledgeable, patient answering my questions and my bill was fair.
