I rented a reclining chair from Alleviate Central for one month. I called them prior to the expiration of one month and asked them to pick up the chair. I was told they would call me to make arrangements to pick up the chair. It has been over a month and they never picked up the chair, I have called Alleviate Central 13 times and most of the time the mailbox is full. I have sent an e-mail. I have never dealt with a company that is this bad in customer service. Please pick up your chair.

This place is awful. I've been trying to return a bed for over a month. Their answering machine is always full and no one responds when they allow you to leave a dial back number. I have placed a ticket with the Better Business Bureau. Do not use this company. I have never been this disgusted with a business and during our time of need. Shame on them.

Please come pick up your equipment! We have been trying to reach you and your voicemail is always full. We are not your storage unit!

I am so fed up with this company. Getting the bed was one thing, but I have trying to return it for three weeks. No one ever answers the phone and the mailbox is alway full. I refuse to pay more than two month, if that if this persists. If they don't come to get this bed (which is in my dining room) soon, I will have it removed and call the Better Business Bureau.

The first time we rented from them (July 2021) we had no problems. They are very casual--no paperwork, no receipt, no email or text confirmations--which struck me as odd but we didn't have a problem so I didn't worry about it. We decided to work with them again because their prices are good and our experience was good last time. This time they delivered the recliner quickly at a good price and we agreed they would return to pick it up in 2 weeks. Two weeks ended 10 days ago. No pickup, no communication at all. When we try calling them it's always a message that the voice mailbox is full. We don't know what to do. We don't want to store their equipment and be responsible for it for an indefinite amount of time. It's very frustrating and I would not recommend them or work with them again. It's too bad because other than this, they were ok to work with but this is a deal breaker and no way to do business.

It's kind of confusing. The address leads you to a middle eastern grocery, which is apparently owned by the same people or something? That's not very clear, they don't tell you that beforehand, nor is there a sign on the storefront a couple doors down where all the medical equipment is. When picking up an item for short term rental, I had to call the phone number I found online to find out what was going on and how I was supposed to pick up. Rental process was easy and price was reasonable. However, when I tried renting another time when I had a guest who would have benefitted from having access to a chair (beyond simply hoping that wherever we went had one available for visitor use), I called and never received a response back. I'd hoped to set up delivery of a chair for a weeks' use but since they were silent we didn't get to do that.

Unreliable company for the disabled. The scooter that my disabled mother relies on and cannot move without suddenly began to have problems charging -- the days before Fourth of July, her twIn grandchildren's birthday and a family gathering. Alleviate was due to come on Friday but failed to show up. Alleviate then promised to come today, Saturday from 12-2 but has completely blown her off so she is stranded inside her house (afraid to even move much there) and now cannot attend two family gatherings. This is on the heels of her husband passing away in the last month. This company has basically ruined her weekend and that of our entire family. She is very down and we are furious that we counted on such an unreliable place. Go elsewhere! PS: if they can turn this around and still repair this, I will revise this rating. Apparently, my mom worked with previous owners of this company who were great. Beware now unless you don't mind being disabled and being stranded.

We have been trying for one week to get Alleviate to pick up their equipment, but the mailbox is always full and they do not call even though the rental period is up. Hopefully they will see this review and call us to come get it?? Other than that, the equipment worked well. Call us!!

Abdul was very helpful! We had a hospital bed delivered and later picked up. Had no problem at all. Abdul made the whole process very easy!

My husband had hip replacement and so I rented a hospital bed and food tray just in case. Alleviate Central's customer service, namely Abdul, was excellent. Also, I had called several medical supply businesses and Alleviate has very competitive pricing. A great experience during a stressful time. Thank you.

I was looking for a scooter to rent but upon me coming in to check it out trying to make sure it would fit in the back of My Ford explorer I found that it would not so my next option was a wheelchair. I was absolutely thrilled that I was able to rent the chair for My event. I drove from Dolton to Morton grove to this store because the customer service I received on the phone was so impressive and I made sure he got my business! Not only was he helpful in explanations of what he offers for mobility options he seemed like he cared about me, the customer, not only because he was making a transaction but because that is the type of heart je has. Not only do I support business owners like this, they receive my utmost respect. He has a customer for life! ?

Great place to go for your disability needs. Very friendly and very knowledgable. Nadeem the owner handles the sales himself. Just bought a mobility scooter and it's great. Would buy from there again.

I broke my foot badly recently & couldn't walk. I was desperately looking for a knee scooter! I called a lot of places and no one had it in stock. Every place was a 2-5 day wait. Even Amazon couldn't get me one if I bought it-- a 2-3 day wait time! Finally we called Alleviate--despite the 1 star reviews. They had one in stock! My husband went to get it & we were able to rent a knee scooter-- plus rent a wheelchair & buy a shower seat-- all in one visit! Very affordable prices too! Just FYI- the store owner runs a shop next to the Alleviate store. So call before you go and when you get there if they seem "closed". (When my husband got there & the store seemed "closed", he just called the owner again. The owner came right over to help. So a little inconvenient but not terrible!! Anyway, we'd rather support small business owners then a big retail giant!) I'd definitely recommend this store & suggest you just call first to make sure they have what you need in stock & that you'll be coming by.
