They are overwhelmed in there it seems. Be prepared as the smell will hit you in the face when you walk through the door. Most of the staff were great. Volunteers were great as well except for one girl who had no social cues and acted as if the animals were her own. She definitely did not receive training in helping animals get to homes.

A dog chipped to this rescue was found in Indiana and the rescue has refused to help find his owners at all or help. He is literally CHIPPED TO THIS "RESCUE". What a complete failure.

Volunteers answering emails made multiple false statements and rescinded my application when pointed out (stated reason was I said the dog was set to begin training to provide assistance to a child w autism). The shelter manager at MG is honest and to the point and it was resolved. However, I spent a month waiting on a dog and dealing w fabricated information only to be rejected on unconstitutional grounds and almost losing the dog I waited on bc they made her available for adoption and gave me incorrect information on her return date. Overall it was a terrible and stressful experience and I would not recommend adopting from Wright Way.

We just got Luna a couple weeks ago and we couldn’t be happier with the experience. They allowed us to bring our current dog Stella to feel out how she’d feel with a new dog and now they’re inseparable. Appreciate all the hard work these people do at the place to try and help get these dogs to good homes. Thank you for your time, energy, and friendliness. Our friend just adopted Mini from there too. All in all I’d recommend them to anyone.

The puppy I asked for wasn't the breed U received . I called to speak to a manager. They said there were no managers there, If I came in, I could speak to a manager. The disclaimer is there is no guarantee that you get the dog that they said the breed is

When we went to go look at puppies, 3 puppies to small cages, poop everywhere. Puppies sleeping in their own poop for who knows how long. Poop in their water bowl. These dogs looked neglected and sad. I mean the amount of dogs shoved into small spaces was horrendous. I couldn’t stand being in there for more than a minute. Can you imagine sleeping in your own poop in a 4 by 4 cage with two other puppies. DO NOT SUPPORT THEM

DO NOT ADOPT FROM HERE!!!! They do NOT care for their animals medically and they KNOWINGLY spread Parvovirus and other DEADLY diseases to animals! My boyfriend and I have had animals our whole life. In Dec of 2022 our Pitbull passed. She was 13, and we have another dog who is now 3 years old. She is a black lab. We were really wanting to wait to get another animal so we waited over a year to feel ready to adopt. My BIGGEST REGRET is not really reading all the reviews of this place before we went to adopt a puppy.Keep in mind - we have a 3 year old lab who we vaccinate and take into her vet every year so luckily she should be okay since we took the precautions we did.On Saturday January 13,2024 my boyfriend and I went to the Morton Grove location to adopt a puppy. We had a couple we liked and asked to see one of them when we arrived. Mind you, there were people waiting outside the door to get into this place. We walk in, meet the dog and she was acting normal puppy behavior, but she was COVERED IN POOP. I mean paws, fur, everything. They told us she was 12 weeks. This dog was probably closer to 10 weeks. They also told us she was 12 pounds. She was just spayed 2 days prior and she was being prescribed some medicine (which our vet told us later was pointless). We take her home and introduce her to our other dog. Our other dog was shy at first, but by the time the evening came we got them to greet eachother and wag tails. We wake up the next day and start our morning routine. Throughout all of Sunday the puppy was eating, but her energy levels were decreasing and her poops were becoming liquidity. I am a teacher so I luckily had Monday off for MLK day. Monday morning I was very concerned for the animal. She was not eating, not drinking water, throwing up by 1 pm, and water poops. At this point I am so concerned I take her to the urgent care vet. They test her and she was positive for PARVOVIRUS !!!!!!The place will not pay for medical care for the animal if they are diagnosed with a life threatening illness, they will just take the dog back. This place is SICK! ? DO NOT ADOPT FROM THEM! 2 different veterinarian hospitals have reported this place. I cannot believe they haven’t been shut down yet. The people who work here also DISGUST ME! I don’t know how anyone can SLEEP AT NIGHT knowing THIS is what they do to these poor animals. Our vet literally told us this place is known for this in lake and cook county. SHUT THEM DOWN!!!

Horrible, heartbreaking experience caused by a careless business that will sell you a dog with parvovirus (not going to use the word adopt because it's clear what's going on here)They told us she tested negative but it was sketchily entered in her medical history as a note, and not an actual test tied to her medical records.Adopted a puppy with a reported negative test for parvovirus and two days later she was at our vet literally dying from parvovirus. This careless shelter and it's horrible workers don't care about these animals at all. She was covered in poop when we got her, caked on to her paws so bad we had to soak them to clean them when we got home. We couldn't bathe her because she had been just spayed. We had to pay almost a $1000 to keep this puppy alive for the night while we waited to hear from wright way about our options to have them hospitalize the puppy as per their agreement says. They of course refuse to refund us for the medical debt incured keeping this puppy alive until we can bring her back to them for hospitalization. For us to do this privately would have been $4800 dollars. This leaves you in the disgusting position to return the dog to them for treatment and they MAY return the dog to you or you can treat privately for the $4800 cost. Or euthanize your new puppy, those are your options that this disgusting organization will put you in.Even when they recover from parvovirus they can have lifelong continued health issues, which puts you in a heartbreaking position. Per her medical records she was also vaccinated the same very day she tested negative for parvo and per my vets own words "who the hell does that"Our vet has already filed a complaint with the Department of Agriculture over this, my partner and I will also be filing complaints against this organization. We waited over a year after our last dog had to be put down to get a dog and this experience has been so horrible and sad I can't imagine how many people they've done this to. Please, please, please go elsewhere for your dog this organization isn't worth the ground they stand on or the air they breathe

This review may change. We adopted Stella (fka Gadget) on 1/6. Almost immediately we noticed she had a respiratory infection. 7 days later She stopped eating. In this period of time She has been to a 24/7 Vet and to our Vet of 30 years who is treating her now.The diagnosis is that she had eaten something and since we got her the object had moved down in her system. Since we are both retirees and watch her every move, and snow has been on the ground the majority of the time we’ve had her, the chances of her getting into something she shouldn’t were zero.I don’t know what is going to happen, we are taking it one day at a time. All I know is we love her and will do anything possible to help her.

Our daughter adopted a kitten on 11/18/23. We brought her home and found a flea on her, so we immediately had to pay for a flea treatment ... $31.40 ... not knowing if there were more. The poor kitten had diarrhea at first, so we sent an email to the medical email address on the paper work and it was ... crickets ... absolutely no response, sent another email a day or two later and nothing. After the first email without a response, we brought her back to WrightWay on 11/25/23 and they gave us a couple packs of an expired probiotic and recommended we take her to an emergency vet the next day. They gave us the name of a vet in Northbrook. We took her there and that bill was $300.83. The WrightWay paperwork says they cover vet bills for the first 10 days, all I can say it try and collect. The emergency vet ran blood tests and changed her food. They were able to eliminate a couple of causes but other things were still suspect and they suggested additional labs.Next set of labs ... $506.74. We are now almost 7 weeks in. The kitten is getting better but still not 100%.We have been into Wright-Way twice to talk to someone (the staff is Morton Grove is very nice), but they said all of these issues are out of their hands but they would have the main office call ... crickets ... that was about a month ago and nothing. So, $250 adoption fee, $31.40 Flea Treatment, $300.83 Emergency Vet and $506.74 for additional labs ... we have already spent $1088.97 on this kitten (this does not include all the special, prescription food we had to buy) with ABSOLUTELY NO HELP OR RESPONSE from Wright-Way. VERY SAD!!! Think twice before adopting from WrightWay.If someone from WrightWay is reading this, please do the right thing and I'll change my review.

They have a huge variety of animals to adopt. They also have a pet store for pet supplies that are reasonably priced.
