MFB does amazing work to share our blessings with those that are in need. It's a great place to volunteer!

We have a 32 year old daughter who has special needs. She is high functioning and has been living in her own home for 3 years . She has been looking for employment since moving here 3 years ago ; but, has been volunteering at the food bank , share closet and several nursing homes until employed . We were told that she can no longer volunteer unless she has one of her “ personal support workers with her ! She lives independently, works at share closet independently, has in past worked at food bank ! There are numerous wonderful, kind, special needs adults living amongst us ; all striving to fit in and be accepted. It is very discouraging there are not more businesses willing to give these adults an opportunity. It’s shameful that there are businesses that won’t let God’s special adults volunteer ! ??

We attended the 2019 Giving Tuesday Packing Event for Tender Mercies. It's a well-oiled operation, and it's a wonderful hole in the grocery market they're filling for families in need.

99% of all donations to Midwest Food Bank go directly to the people in need. 1% of your donation goes to admin costs. That's one of the lowest ratios you will find in a charitable organization.
