White Pines Lodge is nestled in a quiet, beautiful setting deep in the forest, surrounded by giant trees. It is a cozy place and the showpiece of the park, featuring a massive, authentic log lodge built in the 1930s. The restaurant is known far and wide for its delicious home-style cuisine, generous portions, and very good food. It offers great service from friendly staff who are very nice people, providing a warm and wonderful experience. The restaurant also hosts the Pines Dinner Theater, which has provided fantastic musical and comedic entertainment for over thirty years. Adjacent is a charming and rustic gift shop. For lodging, authentic and cozy log cabins provide clean and comfortable overnight stays just a stone’s throw from the lodge. The cabins are nice and cozy. Natural beauty abounds with miles of pretty easy trails for the outdoors type, making it a great place for an easy weekend vacation.
We were in the general area so we went there just to have dinner in their log cabin restaurant. Great atmosphere, great food, great service, all at a reasonable price.

A remarkable Illinois State Park with with well-laid out hiking paths and amazing natural beauty. There are breath-taking bluffs and a pretty stream for fishing.
