The best of the best in the area - Capanari's Ice Cream. They are very comparable to Oberweis Ice Cream. Capannari is open seasonally from March until Halloween usually. They have rotating seasonal/weekly flavors along with your classic Ice Cream flavors - I really like the Madagascar Vanilla Milkshakes. The workers are also very friendly, there's a patio and garden outside you can enjoy your ice cream in or a small couple of chairs inside. Definitely try them if you're in the area and want some great ice cream!

I was lucky enough to get some free samples at work. Capannari has previously catered events in our office. They make some tasty local products. We received some Java ice cream and cookie dough. Tasty tasty! They also have vegan and non dairy options. I really wanted to take pics but it got devoured super fast all I have is this lonely business card which we call shortly for more! Oh and they're getting lots of orders for their shamrock shake flavor for St. Pat. Seeing the Ice Cream man brings up nostalgia and hope that summer will come early!

When visiting a friend locally, they suggested we try the best ice cream around, and that sounded like a great challenge. There are many options for sitting outside in a park area, or on the balcony, or inside. When I opened the door and saw both the size of the menu and the many choices of ice cream I was overwhelmed. Staff is very friendly and offer help. I was able to taste 2 different kinds and look forward to next time I am in the area or have a strong craving for ice cream. The store was clean and nicely decorated.

First time here and the ice cream was fabulous. I had the double chocolate peanut butter. Not only was the staff friendly and helpful but the owner and his daughter went above and beyond. I left my phone on the table there and didn't realize it until I got home. The shop was already closed and wouldn't reopen until 3:00pm the following day. It was imperative that I had my phone. After leaving several voice mails at various numbers I gave up. Early the next morning the owner called and said he retrieved my phone and brought it to their warehouse where I could pick it up at my convenience. I was beyond grateful. My point is, not only will you have great ice cream here, but know that the owner, his daughter and the staff are caring people. A+++

Came here when it was a cool evening and it was perfect! The icecream was delicious and with great selections (including vegan options).The service was amazing as well.

Lovely building. Great ice cream for the most part. I was a little disappointed with the vegan black raspberry flavor as I didn’t taste much raspberry. The mango sorbet was fantastic. Very reasonable prices too. I love that it’s in a historic building. Easy parking depending on the time too.

I liked the chewy texture like gelato! I tried the Coconut Chips and Gooey Batter(?) flavors and both were really good. I will visit again next time and I would highly recommend this place!! The interior and exterior are pretty, and there are a park and benches nearby, so it's really a good place to have a sit and eat ice cream.

A quaint piece of history. The house is an internet piece of history filled with memorabilia inside. The ice cream is awesome; so many unique and special flavors to choose from. Definitely worth the visit. Definitely a favorite ice cream parlor. Wish they would sell their ice cream in stores.

The best ice cream and perfect location, it’s right by down town mount prospect. I recommend their ice cream nachos and waffle cones. I personally like their rocky road, but everything there is delicious!

a mount prospect gem for sure! ice cream is generally all the same to me but this place is really special. the flavors are rich, creamy and delicious. i tried their choco taco and i'm in love now. you get the choice of toppings such as oreos, sprinkles, and can't remember the rest. it's super messy and the picture that i took of it in the box looks nothing special but it is a flavor bomb of deliciousness. the store is very small but plenty of outside seating. it seems to be run by very respectful and polite kids! definitely made for a special visit

What a great place for my sister and I, too, take the grands. The ice cream is the best, and the outside is a great area to hang out and eat your ice cream!!

My son was in from out of town and really wanted to try this place. It was terrific! There was a long line but they kept it moving. I will definitely go back. You must try it. Ice cream will be better than whatever you are used to having.

If you are looking for a great dessert in Mount Prospect, look no further than Capanari Ice Cream. My husband and I came here with a Meet-up group to discover a sweet treat. When we got there there was a long line coming out the door and down the stairs. The line moved moderately quickly. We got an ice cream scoop flight to try several flavors. The scoop size for the flight was advertised as baby scoops, but we got full scoops. Needless to say, we were very full by the time we finished. The ice cream was yummy and we liked all four flavors. When you leave the restaurant, you will find a nice little park to eat your ice cream in. I highly recommend Capanari Ice Cream.
