I moved from Nashville, TN in February of 2025 when I retired to my farm in Dix, Illinois.
My son was worried that I was driving my 2018 Toyota Camry and that living in Dix, Il with a no 4-wheel drive vehicle could get me stranded in a Southern Illinois winter snowstorm in the country.
Knowing that I was a major Toyota aficionado, having owned Toyota Camry’s for over 30 years, the most reliable car ever built, he started researching Toyota 4-wheel drive trucks.
He landed on the Toyota Tacoma and said this was the 4-wheel drive truck for me at my farm.
This prompted me to visit Monken Toyota, in Mt Vernon and was connected to a great salesman who listened attentively that I wanted to purchase a 2025 basic Toyota Tacoma SR under Toyota’s incredible interest rate of 3.99% with a $1000 rebate.
He found what I wanted to buy, but by the time he could connect with the other dealership, the 2025 Toyota Tacoma, had been sold.
But they did not give up and after the promotion of that salesman to the Finance Department, Tony Reeves, picked up the reins and ran with it.
And after diligent work he found a 2025 Toyota Tacoma, and the rest is history. I am the proud owner of a 2025 Toyota Tacoma SR.
My most favorable impression of dealing with the dealership is they never tried to upsell me or push me in another direction. They knew where I wanted to go and never got in the way. Tony Reeves walked me through the process step-by-step with no hustle. What a pleasure.
And the closing process went smoothly and to add to the mixture, Michelle Beer, the company’s General Manager was on spot to resolve any issues, which there were none. But she closed the sale with the “goodie bag” presentation, cupcakes and all.
I cannot recommend Tony Reeves and the Monken Toyota dealership in Mt. Vernon, Illinois any higher.
Would I buy again? ABSOLUTELY!!

We just bought a Grand Highlander from Chris Wilson. I would like to congratulate the entire Monken dealership for their personability and professionalism starting with Cecelia. Everybody at Monken was extremely welcoming and helpful throughout the entire process. Tony greeted me at the front door and assisted me in picking out the vehicle I wanted. He was very knowledgeable on the vehicles and very thorough in showing me all the details. He had the answers to all the questions I had. Roger helped me with all the paperwork and did a great job explaining it all to me. I highly recommend buying a vehicle from Monken.

Tony Reeves assisted us with our new RAV4. We came in from the Philippines, and even before we came in the United States of America he kept in touch with us to cater everything we need to know in buying our new car here in Mount Vernon. Monken Toyota really know their stuff and go beyond just to help their clients. They are really great in what they do!
