Timber Trails Campground is a quiet and well-maintained outdoor space located close to I-70, making it a convenient stop for travelers. The campground features spacious, level sites—many long pull-throughs—that are suitable for large RVs, such as 38-foot fifth wheels and big trucks. Most sites are water and electric hookups, with some seasonal sites that include homemade structures made of wood and metal panels, offering added protection from the elements. The grounds are very wooded and kept in excellent condition, creating a peaceful, country atmosphere with lots of trees and a view of a cornfield from some sites. Facilities are basic but functional, including a convenient dump station and trash facilities near the exit. While the bathhouse was a bit far for walking, staff members are friendly and accommodating, often guiding guests to their sites. Pets are welcome, and the campground has friendly animals, such as a boxer dog in the office. The quiet setting features lakes and a swimming pool, providing relaxing outdoor activities. Although there is no store nearby and cell service can be limited, the campground offers a friendly environment with good connections for mobile devices (noted for T-Mobile users). Overall, Timber Trails Campground is a comfortable, scenic place suitable for overnight stays, with helpful staff and a peaceful atmosphere that makes it worth returning to for travelers passing through.
