Recently I had to change pharmacies because my insurance changed and no longer considered my old pharmacy as in-network. So I did some research and found this Osco close to me with decent reviews. It is in-network on my new insurance. Other pharmacies in the area were also in-network but had questionable reviews (and I know one of those companies - a big chain store - is having problems with store closings. So this was Osco was one of my best options). It’s always hard to make a change and you never know if the reviews are accurate. I am so pleased with this pharmacy. The people on the phone at this Osco were very helpful. I didn’t have to go in to make arrangements for prescription transfers - they took my name, birthday, address and the name, phone number and address of my other pharmacy. They didn’t even need to know my new insurance info because they have the technology to find me in some kind of online system and see my new insurance. When I went to pick up my medications, all 6 prescriptions had transferred easily. On their own, Osco folks had checked for the cheapest costs, whether through my new insurance or through another like GoodRx. 4 prescriptions were covered with the cheapest prices on my new insurance but 2 were more expensive so Osco automatically applied a discount through another provider. This never happened at my old pharmacy- if it wasn’t covered by my old insurance the old pharmacy wouldn’t even tell me it was available through something like GoodRx for less. I’d either have to bring in a code or pay full price. This Osco checked for me automatically. I was also impressed with the speed and efficiency of the staff at the counter. There was a line of 3 people ahead of me, but it went quickly. And there were probably 4 or 5 staff on hand filling orders behind the counter. And the checkout person was very friendly. Overall I’m super impressed with this Osco. The only downside is there is no drive-through. But it’s worth it I think to have to go inside for this kind of exceptional service. I’m not a huge fan of the particular Jewel store in which this Osco is - it’s not bad, just not as big with as many choices as other Jewels in the area - but I do go to this Jewel fairly frequently as it is close and decent. But since I only need to go once a month or once in 3 months to pick up prescriptions, I’m happy to go inside. I didn’t have any problems with reaching someone on the phone, as other reviews had mentioned. I got the sense that these Osco workers are well-trained, and care about their customers / patients. I would highly recommend this pharmacy at this location.

The pharmacy I used for years was closing so I had Osco initiate a transfer of my prescriptions. They made the process simple & seamless…and also found me a better price! Staff was kind & took the time to explain things & answer any questions. So happy I chose to transfer over here!

Same as the other Jewel Osco’s in the area, great quality in their generic meds. And the pharmacists are super helpful and nice. Enoc approved.

Well, Jewel has Pringles potato chips in Santa Claus cans on the shelf. I did check the date on the cans, it was December 2023. Did someone find these in the stockroom?

This place is pretty rough. Why is the old guy at the meat/fish counter always so angry?

I contacted the parent company of Jewel "Albertsons Company" and was told that all of their stores including Jewel Osco complied with the American's with Disabilities Act which states that those with medical conditions that prevent them from wearing a mask are exempt from wearing a mask. Albertsons Company specifically assured me that those with medical conditions that are unable to wear a mask do not have to wear a mask in their stores. I went here and one of the employees told me that I had to have a mask on and I told them that I am exempt for medical reasons. They told me that there is a mandate requiring that everyone wears a mask in any public place. Let me remind you that the official mandate even states that those with medical conditions that prevent them from wearing a mask are exempt from doing so. I tried to explain to them in detail that I am exempt and cannot wear a mask due to medical conditions so they interrupted me and told me that they will get they're manager. The manager came up to me like a school bully or a cop and was like "Soooo, is there a reason your not wearing a mask in my store?", very unprofessional. I told him that I am exempt for medical reasons and he started getting extremely mad and yelling about how this specific Jewel does not do that and other ones nearby do. and then he physically grabbed my basket from my hand and kept telling me to leave and talking down to me like I was some d*** idiot. I've been taking to someone from Albertsons Company through email and I told them what happened and they told me that they will forward all of it to the store director. I haven't been back since, but let me add that before this happened. I've had multiple similar experiences of employees being very rude to me. I had an employee tell me that I have to have a mask on and I told them that I am exempt and they were like "Oh god..." in a nasty tone and just walked away, another employee on a separate occasion told me the same thing and I told them I am exempt and they laughed and were like "Yeeeahh" in a sarcastic way as if they did not believe me. And the second worst experience was when these 2 ladies who worked there at night got extremely irritated after telling them that I cannot wear a mask and that I am exempt and they kept telling me that I have to have someone shop for me or that I cannot come here again without a mask on. They were also very very rude to me after that when they were checking out my items, I didn't have enough money so I asked if I could put back the ice cream. One of them was like PUT BACK THE ICE CREAM??!!!! WHAT ICE CREAM??! Because I accidentally called them "ice cream" when they were actually popsicles. Overall Very rude employees. The manager does not train they're employees on stuff they need to know about. And also it is very strange because they put away all of the baskets at night so if you go there after 11 or so. The baskets will most likely not be by the door, one time I found a ridiculously tall stack of baskets stacked in the middle of where you walk in a very strange location by the exit. Also in the day time the baskets are in a strange place behind the automatic doors right when you walk in, it was difficult to grab one because the doors kept opening and closing very close to you, that is a strange place to put them also because I almost don't even see them when walking in.

I honestly as a 15 year long customer stopped going here and take the trip to libertyville because the employees there have gotten rude, especially in the checkout. Libertyville staff is 10x nicer

The store is constantly in disarray. The urine smell in the bathroom was worse than Wrigley field! Management has failed at keeping this store anywhere near quality. Honestly disappointing

Very bad customer service, some of those employees need an attitude check. Especially some managers, not knowing how To carry themselves professionally. Also some prices for some items seem very overpriced. The only good thing is from the app when they have special and good deals to find items.

This store does not honor the sign published on its own doors. Some people have medical exemptions to mask-wearing. They refuse service to those people. Yesterday I was refused help at the fish counter. I could not have been more polite and accommodating. I told the man I would stand 10 feet away and wait for him to leave before picking up my fish. He refused to help me. He called the manager who pulled the same stunt. I also told him I would stand far away and wait for my fish. He refused to help me.

My family has been going here for years and haven't had any problems until today (3.27.21). My fiance went to get what we needed and once he was cashing out his cashier was being rude. He took out cash back and asked if she could give him $20 in quarters. After that she was being so hostile and said she could only give $10. But previous times going we've been given $20. And when we asked why she said, "Because that's what I do." She started raising her voice and when my fiance was talking back in the same tone she siad, "Don't raise your voice at me. I can get loud to." When asked for the manager she brought someone who isn't management. And she stood by the cashier and just said we were in the wrong and the empolyee was right. What kind of customer service is this? And how is the management allowing their employees to talk like this?

The store is just okay. Like any other typical grocery store out there. I am a retail employee myself but I am here in Illinois for college and occasionally I do instacart at this store as well as shopping for myself. As an individual who has had retail experience for several years back home in Wisconsin as well as working for jewel myself my freshman year, some of these individuals need an attitude check and seem to lack customer service skills. A lot of them obviously don't want to be there and I get that. It's a pandemic neither do I, but if you really hate interacting with customers that much just leave or go do instacart like I do where you are more independent. The produce at this store was also very disappointing I was shocked at how small the grapefruit were and how beat up the scallions were. 2 stars instead of 1 for the Starbucks inside lol. Bad produce when I went, wifi is shot and doesn't work on my phone, rude employees sometimes, and just a mediocre grocery store with fluorescent yellow lighting that really isn't all that special. I'll stick to Whole Foods.
