Planet Fitness is a welcoming and friendly gym with a Judgement Free Zone. It is a good place to train with very clean facilities and locker rooms. The equipment works very well and members are typically able to get on the machines they want. Staff are described as nice, very friendly, approachable, personable, helpful, patient, and kind. While some note it is a smaller facility, the value is considered amazing for the price. A common complaint is that canceling a membership must be done in person at the location and cannot be completed through the app.
Planet fitness is great and recently have upgraded their equipment. I do wish a Gurnee or Greyslake was available.

as somebody new to getting into shape, i highly recommend talking to one of the employees there a young guy there , he was really helpful in recommending workouts to do also the gym itself is clean and has great staff
