Very rude staff to volunteer for especially if you are a person of color . Treated unfairly not included in extra circular functions along with the staff , definitely treated like a outsider.

We adopted our sweet little Blue Moon from Reach. They did a great job helping use to pick the right dog for our lifestyle.

REACH Rescue is honestly one of the best adoption centers we have ever experienced. They were so incredibly knowledgeable and helpful and walked us through the entire process. Because most of the animals available are being fostered - they are socialized and so loving! You can tell all of the staff/volunteers lead with their hearts and take such good care of the animals. We happily adopted our first dog, Cedar, through them and will continue to support this amazing Rescue! ?

Seriously the most individualized, compassionate, understanding rescue group. The whole team cares so deeply about helping the right pup get matched with the right family. My husband and I applied to adopt a dog that got adopted before our application was processed. When I called to check in, Amanda personally recommended another dog they had just received and connected us immediately with the dog's foster mom. It ended up being the perfect match, and we were able to adopt the perfect dog for us. They were so upfront about all information they knew about her and medical history. They also continue to be an available resource post-adoption, which is great. We found the sweetest pup to be a part of our family and had such a lovely time working with Amanda and Jan and the whole Reach Rescue team!

There was a crack head screaming & chasing people off the sidewalk as I arrived with 4 children when I was ushered quickly inside as multiple police cars arrived. This place was extremely disappointing and did not show any professionalism whatsoever. When they don't want a candidate these people treat you like the snobs in Pretty Woman and pretty much ignore you. They tell you to send info they never look at. You email it and it bounces back bc they blocked you after they asked for it to be sent? They tell you to text but none of the texts are ever read just received. Giving people the run around and wasting time bc they can't give a simple no which is part of their job just destroys any professionalism in terms of customer relations. All you had to say was no. But wasting hrs of my time requesting info in emails and texts you never intended to read bc you didn't review my app after the entire process was completed within 3 days and never checking the medical records I released days before until I physically asked you to is not trying to find an animal a forever home. Nobody who wants to adopt should be treated like that & I was nothing but kind and patient never once saying a word. That was their responsibility and they failed, just like did when they adopted the dog I asked about out to the wrong home the first time and denied it a forever home. That's not taking the adoption process seriously, it's abusing it to make people feel a certain way and it's why people that try to be honest and do the right thing to adopt don't even want to anymore. What a disservice to both good people and to the animals. In response: I provided the info. asked about the vets & only added additional based off the Fosters suggestions. I released the medical files & your est. had 3 days to get accurate info. When I realized that did not occur I then went home & emailed you every record which showed that I used the same vet since 2008 & that vet was on over 90% of the receipts I provided in detail (86 vet receipts in 15 yrs.) Nobody bothered to look at the info. b4 it got dismissed. & why did Patti offer to drive & meet me w/ those records or have me go home to get them if nobody was going to look at them? It wasted my time & had you looked it over you would see what the adoption agency that I did get approved for in under 12 hrs that I did have current records. I asked multiple times if it was just the dog or my application. You never told me, just made up 1 excuse after another none of which made sense bc it contradicted the app & files I had & provided for you from my own records. I’ve undergone the most extensive background checks to gain civilian access to military bases during times of war for a dog adoption agency to deny me? It’s unfortunate that there was no transparency about what the issue really was. I went above & beyond, the least you could have done was actually read & review the very solid tangible paperwork & conversations had to make a fair decision. You failed to do this & to address why you requested info. from me to text & email & explain why you did not look it over & blocked me sending what you requested the same night? You made your decision about me w/o ever looking over my info. That was what happened & had you been willing to open any info. I sent you would see you were wrong & clearly that was more important to preserve your reputation then fulfill the goals of an adoption agency & review info.? How can you justify your response w/o addressing that? Giving ppl you don’t want to adopt out to the silent treatment rather than a no is unprofessional & juvenile.I found a great dog w/ a great rescue & had you not blocked me I would have handled this privately. It became a matter of judging my character in the most obvious way when your est. was the one actually being judged & you failed terribly your pets & adopters to preserve your preconceived notions & look like you did the

Suzanne goes above and beyond to ensure the right pet is placed in the right home. She called every single reference and our vet to ensure we were the right home for our newest addition to the family. She was extremely communicative and thorough when walking us through the adoption process on site.

We recently adopted a dog from Reach Rescue. She is sweet and loving and an amazing addition to our family. Whiskers + Wags is connected with Reach Rescue (the two are connected) and the money they get from the resale shop goes to help the rescue dogs and cats. Before we adopted our dog, we have also been a huge fan of this resale shop. They have an amazing selection of items! Ive gotten furniture, a tea set for my daughter, and all sorts of goodies here. Cant recommend supporting this business more. Please shop and adopt here, and donate nicer items here too when you need to donate (the sale of your item will go to help a dog or cat in need).
