9/20/23, I visited this branch to deposit a cashier's check which was issued by BMO Harris Schaumburg.Prior to my visit, the Schaumburg branch had confirmed that the check would be cleared and funds will be available immediately only upon deposit into BMO bank account. I also called the Naperville branch to verifying this information.But when I was in the branch,the staff and branch manager conducted a more than 40 mins verification process including successfully verified the check by reached BMO Schaumburg. Consequently, the branch manager didn't clear the check immediately, instead he placed a hold on the funds for 2 reasons, 1. He doesn't know if the check has been deposited to other account. 2. He tried to invade my privacy by asking an inappropriate question of my plan to manage my money in the account which I didn't feel comfortable to answer.I have filed a CFPB complaints agaist this case since the funds was confiscated by BMO and the branch manager bullied customer by making difficulty for not answering his inappropriate question.When I read the google review just now, I found other customer met the similar problem of accessing their funds. Lesson learnt, read google review before we go.

This Branch office would not deposit a check written by BMO - clearly written on the check by BMO deposit to xyz account mutual customer. They would not honor their own check, with clear instructions to deposit.Who wants to do business with a bank who will not allow you to access your own funds?This branch is not representative of BMO customer service found at other BMO locations.

The tellers in side the bank are very friendly and nice but some of the bankers our little bit rude and some of the drive thru tellers should take a vacation and cool off
