Buggy or pirated ATMs at this bank location, found out a 3rd party handles them. An atm logged me in with my debit card, took my check deposit, then when I choose to withdraw cash it gave me a msg, "insufficient funds" which is incorrect. It then gave me back my check, and asked me if I wanted to do more banking. I just removed my card and left. Then you cannot get anyone to answer the phone at the local branch, and have to spend 30 minutes getting through to 800 customer service. Next, they have no record of me logging into the system through the ATM. Just best to bank elsewhere.

I agree with other reviews. I have been customer for this branch for more than 20 years. I recently went into get a notary and received a very bad customer service from Ivan. This place changed recently and better not to do your banking here.

I went in today with my wife to open up a savings account and Michelle was helping us and she was very rude actually she was extremely rude and gave us dirty looks because we're Muslim at first she saw me everything was good but as soon as he saw my wife wearing a headscarf her face expression changed I don't recommend her help, I do not tolerate racism , so we went over to PNC. It's a difference very kind smile welcoming us and opened up a savings account very prompt what a nice experience at PNC bank on the corner of Washington and East Ogden I highly recommand everyone going over to PNC.It's sad to have employees for nice organizations like Citibank. the bank looks Bad especially having employee's attitude and racism effect my experience at citibank which I've used in San Diego many times but I won't experience that Here in Illinois unfortunately because of Her behavior.

This is the worst bank with the worst customer service I have ever seen. If you don't want to waste your time don't come here ever, don't repeat my mistake. It's also impossibly hot inside and the staff is rude.

This Citibank is a zoo. Inconsistent service quality and knowledge. Some days you got good service, some days you got poor service. Information they provided could also be inconsistent. There are about 7 to 8 consistent staff onsite, most of them were just sitting there, doesn't seem to be busy or has any work to do. Of 10 times I stopped by, only 2 out of 7 or 8 staff were "working." Too many people in a small sized office, feel jammed. It's an open space, meaning, no privacy. There isn't an office with the ability to close the door if necessary. 90% of time, they couldn't resolve my questions or concerns or issues. This particular location doesn't seem to do what it supposed to do or adding value. Can consider using this location ONLY if you need teller services. Go to other Citi locations for other items. There are Citi locations with spacious layout with a combination of open space and offices. Or use other banks such as Bank of America, Chase, Wells Fargo, or local banks.

When many retail branches are closed, the staff at remaining open branches should be happy when they see customers. This applies to all downtown Chicago, Glen Ellyn … they greet you with smile and open arms. Unfortunately this is not here. Also the branch manager is rude, particularly to Asians. Maybe she has the racial inferiority complex. I have been a customer for 20 years and always do my banking in Chicago loop. I went to the Naperville branch because I go to my office only once a week. I went there for transactions as well as notarizing a document. I finished my transactions and had to wait for a teller who was a notary. The manager came when I was in line. She asked with rude manner: what are you waiting for? I told her that I needed to notarize my passport. She said that they would not notarize passports. I told her that I was asking them to they notarize my signing of the document in front of a notary. She asked me to show her the document. She then spent less than 20 seconds in glancing it and said she would not do it. I told her that that was the language provided by the Secretary of State and has been used many times including a recent notarization by her own bank two weeks ago. She yelled back and threatened me: do you want me to do it for you? I replied: no. I would do it elsewhere. She turned and walked away. I went back and we shouted briefly. I asked her for her name and she threw me her business card - Ms Li - branch manager. A few things: she did not try to understand my situation and try to solve it. She did not sit down, examine the document - she simply glanced for 20 seconds when I was standing in line and never looked at the document twice. Also, in my opinions, she should never never confront a customer in the main lobby of the bank in front of other customers and staff. If there is a situation she should de-escalate not to escalate or even start a situation. She needs to be retrained. Chase is much better.

I have been a Citibank customers both personal and corporate for 20 years and always deal with the branches in Downtown Chicago. The people in downtown branches are always pleasant, greet you with your names, smile, and apologize when you have to wait. Unfortunately, most of the branches are closed due to the pandemic. This branch is completely the opposite. First things first, there is no smiling face in the branch. The service is slow but acceptable. The staff are not particularly friendly either. It is bad to complain about the staff, but it is even worse to complain about the Big Boss, the Branch Manager. Today, I needed to notarize some documents. After I made a deposit, I waited for a designated teller to free up. Then the Branch Manager suddenly came to ask me in an unfriendly manner. She told me that she would not notarize the documents because of the word: "Instrument." I told her that I was not asking her to notarize the document. I was asking her to notarize me signing in front of her. I told her that we had used the same templates for thousands times and about one month ago they notarized the same documents for me. She argued and then simply said: "Do you want me to do it for you or not?" I was very upset about her statement and yelled back. She said she won't do it and walked away.

Average bank. Nothing special. 2 tellers and 2 staff last time I came in. They don't always have a citigold rep here which I would assume wouldn't make a citigold customer happy. Did a transaction and told the lady I live in another state and to make sure I signed everything then in person. She said ok. She calls me like 4 months later and asked me to come in to sign again and I said I can't, I live in another state like I told you. She said she will figure it out. I don't know what she did.

I wish I had seen these reviews before opening an account here. The customer service in the branches is horrible. The customer service over the phone is horrible. The representatives inside the bank made me feel like they would get an illness from me (I know during this times is Difficult, but they could do a better work if they had a little bit of courtesy. I opened 2 accounts: a checking and a credit card. I decided to close the checking account 6 days after. On top of that, they offer you a great promo to open a credit card, and then, the bonus that they offer ends not being that they promised. Higher fees comparing to any other bank. Other banks have courtesy waving of fees is there is a mistake in your charges, But, again, Citi bank does not do that. I would give 0 star rating if I could. Worst banking experience ever.
