Amazing experience through an overwhelming house buying event! I had such a great experience with Anthony “Tony” at Smart Mortgage that helped me through every step of the process. Broke things down and was able to explain all the different components to getting a mortgage loan. Thank you so much for everything you have done and all the support!!!

Amazing! Let me start with saying thank you to Anthony @ Smart Mortgage! At first we were a little skeptical on working with Anthony a.k.a Tony since we were not even in the same state, but I would say it was the best decision we made! He was not the first Home Mortgage Loan officer we were working with, but he went out of his way to prove to us that he was the correct choice. One of our options did not even care to help me find the program for first time home buyers! She told me I had to do the research on my own because she didn't have many connections to that type of help! Well, that is the funny story to how I came upon Tony @ Smart Mortgage not only did he call me right away, but was always attentive to my calls, emails, or messages. He went through the process step by step before sending any type of information. Once I received paper work he also made it clear to me what I was signing and what each part was explaining in detail. He answered all my questions and helped us get the best offer that was possible. Our process was tricky due to the special situation I had personally, but he never gave up and kept me posted about any changes that had to be made. I will be referring him to all my friends and family who may look for a home in the future! Thank you again! :D

We worked with Heather Steger at Smart Mortgage and she made our dreams come true. I researched a number of Mortgage companies and spoke with a lot of people. Heather by far exceeded my standards. She always answered her phone and was available to talk to me at anytime. We just moved into our new home and we couldn't be happier.Update 2022-I’m back in search of a lender so what do I do? Of course, reach out to Smart Mortgage Centers. Well, I submitted an application over a week ago. I reached out to Michelle several times and never heard back. Needless to say, I went elsewhere. I wish the service was the same but it looks like things have changed. I removed two stars because of this.

I can’t believe I didn’t leave a review. I’m so sorry. My husband and I close on our home in February 2022. I found Michelle through a Google search and I am so happy that I did. Michelle and her team for absolutely amazing, they fought for us three times over again when we were wanting to give up because of the housing market being a sellers market and appraisals were not going through. Michelle and her team explained everything from A-to-Z, we started the process back in October and what was supposed to take 30 days took a little longer not due to Michelle but due to the seller, and Michelle was still very patient working with us in our first time home buying experience. Thank you so much. Ok Michelle, we looking to do something’s in the future. I hope you ready for us again. ❤️Donald and Angela smith???

I worked with Owen Weddel of Smart Mortgage Centers, Owen has been amazing , assured me from the beginning that we will be able to purchase our first home in AZ. I had excellent experience working with Smart Mortgage and the online Portal was easy to use when uploading documents . Owen is a great loan officer, he is very honest and he find the answer if he does not know it. He kept in touch with me to make sure everything was smooth and I highly recommend him. Thank you Owen.

I was hesitant to write a review because I wasn't completely satisfied with Michelle, who I worked with. She did get my mortgage approved fast once I submitted all my paperwork. I wasn't happy with the communication from her. We started the application for our mortgage early in the year but our closing wasn't till almost 2 months later. We had a low interest when we first started the application. Our file was sitting there till we needed the clear to close. Our rate wasn't locked in and we had to pay higher now. I felt like she did not advise me well and obviously wasnt updating her current clients about the rates. I've been told by many people that their lenders update them in the rates so they can determine a lock in rate. I wouldn't work with her again.

Excellent experience working with Owen Weddel of Smart Mortgage Centers. Owen worked to insure I received the lowest possible rate on my refinance and did a super-quick turnaround on my closing. The Portal was super easy to use when uploading documents and the process was super easy. This is not the first time I've worked with Owen. He is a great loan officer who kept in touch almost daily to insure everything was in order and I highly recommend him. Thank you Owen.

I recently went to this business location in Naperville to discuss my plans to purchase a new home this year. When I got there it appeared to be a completely closed down branch with no one there. I called their number listed online and it was routed to their Plainfield branch location. I spoke to someone there that confirmed that the Naperville branch was closed down and that they moved to their new branch in Plainfield last year. This gave me an instant bad feeling about this company. This company should have updated this information online last year when they moved like they are required so that people like myself and other potential customers in the area do not end up wasting their time with unnecessary confusion while searching for services online. I find it completely unprofessional and misleading that this company regularly updates their advertisements online under the Naperville branch location while also misrepresenting that it is still an open branch location doing business. I got a bad vibe from the whole thing and went with a different company in the area for my needs.

called for rates and they told me they would need all my personal information and to run a hard credit check (damaging to credit) before they can tell me any details on current general interest rates. I have purchased, refinanced in multiple states. I have dealt with DOZENS of mortgage lenders/brokers and this is the FIRST TIME someone has bold faced lied to me out of sheer laziness in order to provide me any assistance or information. GO elsewhere to find a mortgage lender. This initial conversation is indicative of their lack of customer service and trust for a major financial and business decision.

I've been in my new house for a little over 3 months, and I credit Michael Houston from Smart Mortgage Center for getting me through the financing portion of the house-buying process. From my first inquiry to be pre-approved through the closing, Mike was responsive to my questions and kept me informed. This is why I felt compelled to write this review: if it weren't for the Google reviews, I wouldn't have called, so the least I could do was add to the positive.
