If you value your sanity, time, and belongings, DO NOT use this company.
On the front end, they seemed great: responsive, flexible, and reassuring over the phone. But the reality once they had our stuff was a complete disaster.
We moved from Maryland to Florida, and here’s what happened:
Delivery nightmare: We specifically discussed delivery timing because our apartment complex has strict move-in rules. They agreed on the phone it would be fine. They didn’t respect the agreed time at all, creating unnecessary chaos and stress.
Incomplete service: We paid extra for full furniture assembly, yet our desk wasn’t built and we had to assemble it ourselves. We continue to find poorly assemble items that I need to re do.
Property damage: They scratched our wall badly enough that we’ll likely have to repaint.
Lost items: We’re missing at least an entire box of belongings — not just random small things, but things like an electric pump. We’ve listed items to them, and are still worried more will turn up missing.
Broken/damaged goods: Multiple items were broken.
Insurance scam: In Baltimore, while packing, they convinced us to pay $750 for “FULL” coverage for lost or damaged items. They rushed us to sign without mentioning the $1,000 deductible — which makes the insurance useless for most people. In the end, they gave us only $100 despite losing a box and breaking multiple items.
It’s hard to overstate the level of unprofessionalism. What looked like a highly rated, trustworthy company (4.8 stars on Google) turned out to be a nightmare. I can’t help but wonder how many of those reviews are real, because this experience was so bad it felt like a scam.
Moving is stressful enough, you deserve a company that will treat your time, your property, and your trust with respect. This is not that company.

I’ve used Zip Moving twice and both times had a great experience. Jose, Lucio, and William are a great team.

This weekend’s move was one for the books. I had an 8-10am window for a Saturday move (out of state moving from Baltimore to Virginia). Zip texted me on the morning of the move stating that due to an injury of a crew member my time slot would shift to 2-4pm. This was understandable but unfortunate, since the delay for an out of state move would significantly push our timeline back.
When 4pm rolled around I called Zip several times looking for an update. No real person answered the phone for support. It was the most unhelpful AI bot named “Alex” that never connected me with a real person. I tried 5 times and left voicemails and text messages - all unreturned.
I was kept in the dark until 5:30pm, when a member of the moving crew - not any customer service rep - called me to say he would be at my location around 6pm. The crew that would be handling my out of state move had just worked 10 hours in the heat on another job…and then came to my house. I asked the member of the moving crew if I could speak to a supervisor. He connected me with his dispatcher, Milo. I told Milo that I was concerned that the crew would not be on their A-game since working a previous move and that I was concerned moving into my quiet Virginia neighborhood very late at night. I asked Milo if I could push my move to first thing the following morning. Nope - booked for the next few weeks. They were able to bump me - a repeat customer and someone moving out of state - but they could not bump someone else so I could take the Sunday morning slot. I asked Milo if a supervisor could call me back on Monday to speak about this debacle, discuss discounts, etc. and he said I would get a call. I never got a call.
So we proceeded with the move, and we finished up at 11:30pm in Virginia. The moving truck ran out of fuel and wouldn’t start, so I took a crew member to a gas station to fill some containers.
I don’t fault the crew - they were the only ones who cared about getting me in at a reasonable time. They worked a 16 hour day of moving in the heat because of bad planning on Zip’s end. They just happened to run out of gas, which was the cherry on top.
I paid full price for the move. And all my neighbors are pissed. I got no discount from Zip, and still no call.
This is not a one-off bad luck experience. And I am standing by this bad review. There were multiple things that went wrong with the move, and Zip could have called to make it right, or make it better. Still nothing.

I recently hired Zip Moving and Storage to move my office, and they exceeded all expectations! The entire crew was professional, efficient, and incredibly friendly throughout the entire process. They handled everything with care, stayed organized, and made what could have been a stressful day completely seamless. I truly appreciate their hard work and positive attitudes. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a reliable and top-notch moving company!

I would definitely recommend this moving company! Eduardo, Alfredo, and Josué were not only very friendly and non judgemental about how much stuff we had, it was a lot of stuff, but they were also transparent about what things were too small. Pack things in medium or large boxes and keep in mind they don't do trash bags which is understandable but I forgot when packing. The phone staff were also very helpful and friendly and didn't mind that I had to reschedule. And in the end I actually saved money because the movers were so fast, despite lifting many heavy items, that my rate worked out to be less than planned! They were truly wonderful and even joking with me during the move which made a stressful day much better and helped me feel less guilty about all the work I was putting them through going up and down 3 levels.

Bait and switch. The quote is done by zoom and when they get onsite when it’s too late and re-quote but if course way too much. Oh and the “sincere@ response below is a joke. They broke a table and the crew in writing admitted fault but they claim it was incidental. I’m stuck with an $1800 repair to boot.

I would never recommend this moving company.
While the initial consultation and estimate were thorough and clear, the actual moving experience was disappointing and unprofessional. The videos they advertise don’t reflect the reality of their service.
I booked partial packing, expecting my furniture would be handled carefully, but they arrived unprepared with insufficient materials. My TV, for instance, was carried on a shoulder without any protective covering. My mattress wasn’t wrapped; instead, they folded it in half and taped it directly. My $1,000 standing desk was left uncovered until I specifically asked them to wrap it, and even then, they barely did. My dining table and drawer were also left unprotected.
They claimed extra materials would incur additional charges, which I agreed to, but they still neglected to properly secure my belongings. Without asking, they even used my own bubble wrap.
Although my TV was fortunately undamaged, my white furniture, including the standing desk, drawer, and dining table, all ended up scratched.

The two guys who moved me were slow as molasses. Dragged their feet the whole time and took long phone calls in between. I only had two bedrooms sets, 3 barstools and the rest boxes and small things and it took them almost 8 hours to move me about an hour away. I was quoted $600-$800 and it ended up being $1,200!!!! Since you pay hourly, they drag the time out. Not worth the price and I didn't not know about the $130 travel fee in addition to price. My sister and Mom are moving as well and I told them to use Zip when I received my quote but now told them run, do not use this company. My concerns were rubbed off by management. Very unhappy.

Today Zip to Zip moved my elderly family member from NJ to the Baltimore area. They were efficient, quick and professional. One gentleman even offered me water. Very kind. Would highly recommend! Thanks very much!

They were on time and packed my apt. They worked diligently. My only complaint is I ask them to put all the kitchen boxes in the kitchen and the same with the bedroom. No boxes were marked. Half of the boxes are just sitting in my living room. So now I have to open every box just to find one thing. I had 3 consultation calls and at no time was I told they don’t move any liquids.

I had the best experience with Robin Hernandez, Alfredo, and Edgar. They took excellent care of our many items. They handled it even better than I could have and much faster. Will definitely use this company again.

They responded quickly and we arranged for a time and date
-they didn’t show up.
I called the next day and they said they could do it the next day they didn’t show up
but sent me an email said they do it the following day which of course they didn’t, and then sent me something about That they couldn’t schedule it without a deposit …..which was never communicated so three days I paid for storage fees and now I’m going to schedule with hopefully a reliable company. This was a terrible experience.

Horrible experience. Thousands of dollars worth of items were damaged or destroyed. Customer service has been impossible to reach and refuses to compensate me for the damages.Update: Zip has still not responded to me. Even though I've contacted three different people at the company about my claim.
