About Joseph Smith Historic Site
The Joseph Smith Historic Site is a beautiful and historic place where families can walk in the footsteps of Joseph Smith and the Early LDS Church. Visitors can see the historical buildings from the outside with informational markers. However, the buildings may be locked and the Community of Christ visitors center can be closed. For a more complete experience, the open buildings and wagon tour offered at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints visitors center across town provide historical background.

The whole area is a wonderful experience including the Joseph Smith Historic Site with great information. Great place to see how ancestors lived in the early 1800's.
