The whole area is a wonderful experience including the Joseph Smith Historic Site with great information. Great place to see how ancestors lived in the early 1800's.

From Joseph Smith Historic Site
The Joseph Smith Historic Site offers guided tours of Joseph and Emma Smith's Nauvoo. Explore their Homestead, Mansion House and Red Brick Store and visit the Smith Family Cemetery. The Visitor Center features Red Brick Store Books (a museum store), a museum featuring Smith family artifacts, and a fifteen minute orientation video. There is a preservation fee of $4 per visitor for the walking tour which starts at the Visitor Center.
