Dollar General in New Athens offers a range of everyday essentials at affordable prices, including food, snacks, health and beauty aids, cleaning supplies, basic apparel, housewares, seasonal items, paper products, and more from trusted brands and private labels. The store sells tobacco and produce, and customers can save with the myDG program. However, it sometimes has overstock that isn't always what shoppers need, and only opens the self-checkout when chosen, with aisles cluttered with stock carts that can be a safety hazard. The staff is helpful, as shown when a worker kindly provided personal bungee cords. The store stays open until 10 pm daily, with prices often cheaper than other locations, despite closing an hour earlier.
Convenient location. Unfortunately always running low on certain stock or fridges not working.. also not that clean. Some really nice staff and others that need to improve their hygiene.

Over stock on a lot of items but not usually what people need. They only have self checkout open when they choose to have it open. Isles have stock carts that are a safety hazard.

Lady in line hit a deer with her car. Dollar General did not have bungee cords, so the DG worker gave her some of her personal cords. How generous!!
