Had an awesome experience on multiple occasions.
I had an internation package that was stuck in a loop between STL and O'fallon USPS. It was shipped back and forth 9 different times until the New Athens Postmaster put a hold on the package and picked it up herself. She went up and beyond!

These people are the absolute worst. Claim they knock when they drop off packages but don’t, then get caught on our Ring camera. The hours are ridiculous. What local post office needs an hour and a half lunch break then close a couple hours later? My packages are always lost or extremely delayed. I can go on. -Lauren Funk

Packages are not delivered and notices are left saying they tried to deliver them when that’s not true since I am a disabled veteran and I am at home. Than the post office closes at 3:30pm which does not allow for packages to be picked up by individuals that work. Since I am unable to get to the post office I have to rely on someone to get my packages for me. Ever other carrier like UPS FEDEX and Amazon Prime are able to delivery packages without a problem but not the New Athens Postage Service.

If I could give them negative stars, I would. Incompetence at its finest. Pkgs are misdelivered or left in the rain along with mail not put all the way in the box when raining. They really seem like they could care less. I'm sure some of them care and try to do a good job, but not the ones that deliver to me.

This is the worst post office. Theres one mail guy who does not know how to deliver mail. I constantly have to go in there and fuss cause I never get any packages delivered. They have been delivered to houses two streets over .or in the other side of town and the woman in there does nothing.
