TERRIBLE customer service. I have called three days in a row requesting an update and each day I was told I’d get a call back by end of day and it never happened. We’ve been to many other HR Block locations over the last 10 years and have never been treated this way. Save yourself the trouble and try a different location.

We normally have used h and r. This year was beyond aweful. We had someone who had no idea what they were doing. My husband had to point out stuff he was missing. Thank goodness my husband was paying attention. He kept calling his supervisor over when she had clients of her own and she had to redo our whole thing. I flat asked her if our taxes are even correct. We were there over 2 hours and couldn’t even finish because then there was system error. Will not be returning ever again and will look elsewhere, even after years of using this service. This ruined everything for us of trust.

I am not happy working with HR Block. I provided my taxes over a month before tax day. Tax prep said it was well enough ahead and had great time. I never heard back from HR from the day I dropped them off until I called multiple times and sent multiple emails. I was in there Apr 14th Sunday going over taxes and it just makes a complicated situation even worse to be rushed. I did my job of uploading docs to my lock ahead of time emailing info tallying amounts and this was still rushed on top of paying 836 for the filing. Absolutely atrocious

I visited the New Lenox H & R store a week ago. I met with Mark who reviewed my documentation and told me the price would be $300. (High in my view). I agreed.I left the store expecting him to complete my taxes.After several days, he called me back to tell me that the new cost would be $370 (almost a 25% increase)! Why. Mark failed to see that I had income from 2 states!In my view, we had a deal. You don’t get a second bite at the apple! Mark should have honored his original quote and then learn from his mistakes.Mark is incompetent.I would not have your taxes done at this store. Their prices are too high and they will jack them up later as well. Staff incompetence doesn’t help either.Avoid this store!

Overall my experience at HR Block was and has been very good. My preparer was so kind and really looked into different aspects to give me the most optimal results on my taxes. Very very happy with them. That's why I've been back there 3 years now and will continue going back.
