What happened to competent service oriented employees in the paint department?? I am repainting some sections of the cedar siding on a house I bought. There's an old guy at the paint desk Tuesday evening 11/7/23 and I asked him if they have exterior primer that can be tinted. My house is blue gray, I'd rather not go with white primer. You're supposed to prime over old painted cedar when you're doing exterior. So he says to me "your painting drywall, you don't need to prime it'. I told him again I'm talking about exterior painting. I said I am trying to paint some sections of my cedar siding. He says "stain it!" I told him you do not put stain over painted cedar. And frankly, it's the middle of November, I'm trying to get this done quickly, who the fritz would be staining a cedar house at this time of year? I asked for paint! Some of us work during the day and have real jobs. Can the guy possibly be helpful? Then he says "if I tinted it a commercial painter could come in here and say I want 5 gallons of tinted primer. And then he could go to your house and tell you that he both painted and primed it." What circus is this clown from? Maybe he's an undercover boss from Ringling Brothers Barnum & Bailey and he accidentally ended up at Lowes! Did whoever hired him consider people skills? He then 'said it's illegal to tint primer!"In what world was such a law passed? He walked away, comes back a minute later and says "oh, the Sherwin-Williams rep was here and he gave me a card that said you could tint it". Where's the card?" Now he's asking me, the customer. He walks away, then comes back looking for the card again. Then he walks away again and completely leaves the department. There are no words for this shopping experience. I used to buy a lot of my paint at Lowe's in Bourbonnais. The New Lenox store leaves a bit to be desired when it comes to quality customer service. I have been buying some paint from Sherwin-Williams and Frankfort lately and with the discounts available from them the pricing is pretty comparable to what Lowe's is trying to sell Valspar at nowadays. Since Sherwin-Williams is closed in the evening, I thought I would give Lowes a chance. This was a complete waste of my time.

Once again the New Lenox Lowes lives up to the reputation as the worst Lowe's ever . It's unbelievable this location is still open . You ask for help and people look at you like you have 3 heads . That's even if you can find someone who can even talk to you

Worthless. Come in to buy some 3mm MDF. Didn't have any but that's ok I found some 5mm underlayment that would work. Asked the kid by the saw if he could cut a single 4x8 sheet down for me before I drag it over. Was told yes. Got my wood, came back less than 5 minutes and he is gone. Walked up front and asked for someone to cut it down. Cashier said he would call someone and to go back by the saw to wait. 20 minutes and nothing. Walked back to the front and he said "well I paged someone". Never coming back again.

Tried leaving a review on the Lowe's survey site, but I cannot find an ID code in my receipt! So I decided to leave a review here! Ted was exceptionally helpful in flooring, and I went back specifically because of him to order our flooring there! He helped me decide on colors and also gave us lots of info on installation. Purchase process was great! I would highly recommend him!

The customer service at the Lowe's in New Lenox is absolutely horrendous. The assistant manager was ignorant and inconsiderate. AVOID THIS STORE AT ALL COSTS!!!

Planning on upcycling some furniture and went into Lowe's for some paint, not even knowing what kind I should get or the options. Detry, in the paint department, helped answer all my questions and even told us about the BOGO paint sample deal! She dealt with my annoying self buying 9 paint samples!!! She was awesome and even walked up to the cash register while we were checking out to make sure everything rang up smoothly! She was so awesome and made the experience so easy, when it could have very easily been overwhelming! We need more people like her! Thank Detry!

Today I was told that the paint that I have purchased three or more times here within the last month cannot be mixed using a clear picture of the lid outside of the can which clearly has the type of paint, tint etc... everything is on it. I buy it by the gallon as I complete one section of the exterior at a time. The paint associate said that he did not know how to mix it and called Orland park to see if someone could tell him how to make this mix that is clearly on the lid! According to this associate, no one answered. I guess there are no other Lowe's around besides Orland Park that he could have called. The manager Marisol comes over with an annoyed look on her face telling me that they cannot mix it when I have purchased this same paint mix three different times here using the same picture of the lid. One person tells me to come back in 1/2 hour then Marisol tells me to come back after an hour. Sure thing Marisol, I've got nothing else to do but come back. No apology, just a half smirk on her face because I was interrupting her day. WOW! Customer service has really gone down the tubes! It's not that they could not help me or find a solution by calling another store, the point is that they just didn't want to help me. Terrible service.

They are only getting 1 star because I can't choose zero. Stear clear if you're doing a home remodel. They will mess it up every step of the way and not reimburse you for THEIR mistakes.

The customer service here is terrible.workers standing around ignoring customers.Tried going online to get some information about ordering a lawn mower. Was exchanging messages with KylaMae P. and she could not answer a simple question about delivery. Staff is incompetent in person and online. Interesting business model for sure.

I will not be returning to this location, or Lowe's in general. I have had a few subpar experiences here, but the last experience was the final straw. I was trying to buy a dishwasher through a Lowe's credit card. A mistake was made, so the whole order had to be refunded and reordered again. Fine, mistakes happen. I was told the refund would be pushed through on my card within a week or so. After 2 weeks, I decided to call Synchrony (manages the Lowe's Credit Card) to see the status of my refund. I was told a refund was never processed from this location. I have all my receipts saved, but I was double-charged, and now I am waiting in dispute to hopefully get my money back in the next 2 billing cycles. This was the icing on the cake for bad experiences here.
