DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET TO GROOM HERE BECAUSE THEY ARE NOT ANIMAL LOVER AND CAN HURT YOUR PET!! I always take my pets to PetSmarts for grooming. Since I moved to a suburb, I wanted to try Niles store this time as I was close to my home. I made an appointment for 12pm and I was at the store at 11:58 am
Erin checked us in and she said it might take up to 3 hours. BOOM!! 3 hours??? I usually take a maximum of 1.5 hours in other stores. When I asked the reason for this, she told me that she might need to give a break for my cat to calm him down. WOW! I thanked her for thinking of my pet. My cat is very easy going and I was sure it would take a maximum of 1.5 hours. Then I left the store...
After one hour, I came back to see the process. This is what I usually do in other stores to see if he is stressed. I usually buy some treats to make the groomer's life easier. When I came back, I saw my cat's box on the ground, next to one of the grooming stations where one of the groomers working on a dog, and the top of the box was full of dog fur. BOOOM!! MY CAT WAS STILL IN THE BOX!!!
I asked for Erin. She came just in the mood that I disturbed her while she was saving the world! And I asked what was going on. She told me that she was working on another cat. And the conversation continued as below.
Me: My appointment was at 12pm. Is there any reason you haven't started yet?
Erin: Do you want to take your cat back?
Me: No I don't want, just trying to understand the way you handle and you need to explain why you haven't started yet.
Erin: Would you like to take your cat back?
Me: Mam no! I don't want to take my pet back but you cannot leave him on the ground for an hour without any attention and you need to explain why you haven't started yet even though my appointment was at 12pm?
Erin: Do you want to take your cat back?
3 times..... 3 times she asked me if I wanted to take my cat back and leave the store. At that point, I understood that I was not welcome in this store anymore and took my pet back. There is no way I can leave my pet to this person who lacks animal love. When I told her I will leave a comment about my experience, she threatened me that, she would place a note about this on my pet's profile... :)
IT WAS TRULY RIDICULOUS!! Of course, I wanted to speak with the store manager. The store manager was out and a very kind lady approached me as store in charge. I told her the story by adding that I was not looking for any compensation but an explanation. She spoke with the team and came back with an excuse that they overbooked 12pm slot with multiple cats. When I asked for an explanation about the way they communicated with me, It was just an excuse...
My cat didn't eat anything that night as he was way too stressed out because of staying in the box for an hour, covered by dog fur (I wish I had a picture) in such a loud room without any attention. I was planning to get a doctor's report to sue them but thanks to god he became normal on next day.
Please also read other grooming comments as I am not the only one who had such a problem... I will also write this to PetSmart. DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET TO GROOM HERE BECAUSE THEY ARE NOT ANIMAL LOVER AND CAN HURT YOUR PET!!

If I could I would give them 0 stars on their grooming skills. They cut up both my dogs eyes and is taking medication for it to heal. Can’t even open both of them. Do better. It’s pathetic

Well stocked, friendly staff, and very clean. I like that they help get homeless kitties adopted. I also like that you can make a donation to their pet charity right at the register.

Corey was super helpful with our lizard needs. He was very patient with my son as he was doing his pet finding mission. He tolerated our many questions and was a wealth of knowledge on all the breeds he had on site. I would highly recommend this store and will be shopping there often for our future, very regular, needs for crickets

The grooming service is horrible. I booked an appointment two weeks before for grooming my cat. We looked forward to having a bath for my cat and drove 30 minutes to get there. But groomer Ashley… I don’t know what is she doing there if she can’t deal with the animals? She refused to bath my cat saying that my cat was aggressive and wasn’t coming out from her carrying bag. And she said that 3 minutes after I left my cat. She didn’t even try to take her out. My cat is the calmest cat ever. Of course she won’t come out herself to the stranger and won’t be sitting like nothing happened, but she won’t resist and won’t be aggressive. Of course any animal a lil scared at the beginning before that kind of procedures especially cats. But it’s her job to be able to deal with it and make the animal comfortable. I took my cat many times to vet and other groomers and never heard any complaints about her being aggressive. Ashley is not professional and doesn’t know how to do her job. She literally called my cat monster. If she is scared of cats why she even works there? ??♀️ very bad grooming service ?? do not waste your time even for this place

The cats are starved for affection. Go adopt them!
Prices are high compared to some other pet supply sources.

Incredibly disturbed and shocked with service provided by manager Cory. End result was my family and I were thrown out of the store. We were bullied by Cory and one of his store cronies joined in as well.
From the moment we started conversation it was obvious of the bad attitude. His assumptions of what we were stating was incorrect and at that point I felt we didn’t have to explain ourselves. Cory kept cutting us off during our conversation and we couldn’t explain ourselves. But his reaction especially to my wife and children was inexcusable.
The ability to commit and connect with a customer is the process of listening and understanding the customer at all cost. Being polite would help as well. I will never step foot in this establishment again!
