Do not recommend. I used to use Cefcu for checking, savings, and loans. Everything is so difficult with them and they do not make it easy for their customers.

Worst bank ever! Find a different bank to bank with. The bank itself seems to be good at first look, but most of the employees have some of the worst attitudes ever. Rude. Will not return and will bank somewhere else from now. I SUGGEST YOU DO THE SAME!

Awful service. I was told I couldn’t apply for a credit card because “legislation” I went to another bank became a member that day and got my credit card. Screw cefcu. Always spreading misinformation and not appreciating your members. The discrimination of age at this bank is unacceptable.

Employee inside wouldn't cash my check even though I have an account there. It's a check from work so there shouldn't have been any problems with that. Lazy people sitting doing nothing

I had a long wait. The person who was helping me couldn't find the form needed. They had to ask someone else. I should have been in & out within 10-15 minutes. I spent over half an hour, mostly waiting.

I guess I just had the worst customer service in a long time here. They didn't try to resolve the situation or even try to act like they cared. Don't bank here. I don't like writing bad reviews and certainly don't want to write one about a local bank. I even sought some type of positive response from the bank by sharing my experience with other employees. I received an "ok" and someone hanging up on me. Today, I called into the bank to pick up a check. The woman in the IRA department was rude and even tried to explain things to me she was not clear herself about. She went on to try to find some answers by calling other people and leaving me on hold for 30 minutes. She picked up the phone and say "Hi, how can I help you?" I told her she put me on hold 30 minutes before and she said "Oh, I thought I hung up and had the other banks call you." No update on my check. No apology. Just another "ok" response. It felt even intentional because she was still upset I questioned her earlier easily confused and wrong headed. I then did as she did and called the other banks. They told me this woman had already told me she had the check at a certain bank. She never told me this. This whole interaction took an hour and a half to just get a check. No one tried to deliver customer service or make up for my wasted time. No apology. No one cared. These people deserve to go out of business if this continue on this road.

Overdraft fees are absolutely ridiculous, even if withdraws were mistakenly made by a company that swiftly refunded it. They also charge you on top of other ATM fees when not using their ATMs. General not happy with their service, but that's just banking in general today. CEFCU is just as predatory as any of the large banks don't fall for their "small town credit union" ploy. They're in it to make money and don't care about you.

I've never had a bad experience at this cefcu, they are always really nice and I've never had anyone be angry or upset about the things I don't know. As a young person with zero banking experience prior I was nervous, but they were always nice and answered questions. Very nice staff from my point of view.

My boyfriend & I had visited here to open a joint account 10/15/20. We have had cefcu personally for awhile. The teller who got us checked in was excellent. However, the person we spoke to, Patti, was extremely rude. She immediately asked for our ID’s & looked us up (demeanor and attitude reflected someone acting as if we were wasting her time) & neglected to tell us much about what she was doing or what was required for us, when I began to ask about having a joint account she seemed irritated that she had to explain to us the process of it. She then got irritated with my boyfriend because he somehow had two primary accounts & almost acted as if he was lieing that he didn’t know he did. We ended up realizing it was an older account & she asked if it was still in use & he had mentioned he’d need to look further into it and her response is “it’s a yes or no.” ... well, Patti. One could infer that it was a yes. After briefly mentioning we would have to essentially set up a trust and have a named beneficiary that we would then use as a joint account- she stated this was the only way to have a joint account (which I’ve never had to do at any other bank) she rushed us into decided who that beneficiary was then was irritated that we didn’t readily have the social ready for that named person. So, we left. We decided to use a different bank. We are a young family; I felt we were discriminated against because of our age. So, if you’re under the age of 30, you may be better off at PNC, ISU Credit Union, USAA(if you or your parent/spouse is a vet or in the military) just to name a few. I will likely be moving my personal account from here soon.
