10 stars if it were possible!!! Long story short my pup had a laceration quite large and would need sutures to close, I didn't have the thousands I was quoted the night before at an animal hospital. I called our own vet in the morning and they stated that they didn't have the staff nor were they comfortable working with my dog due to previous interactions. My pup likes to growl and then they recommended SMART VET NORMAL. I called and explained the situation, got a quote over the phone and had him in surgery within 1.5 hours. Everyone in the office was kind and caring! Doctor Tabor explained what the surgery would initial and then had taken my pup to the back. When I returned to get my furry friend, I was informed that my bill was less than I was quoted. When does that ever happen. YOU SAVED MY PUP, SAVED ME THOUSANDS, AND GAINED A LIFE LONG PATIENT THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!!

Have been so happy with the quality of care and communication here. They are great with our dog, super caring, and always go above and beyond with answering questions.

My cat developed a strange cough and Smart Vet was kind enough to get me in that day. I went in and they were ready for me right away. After some testing and x-rays my cat Stormy was diagnosed with feline asthma and a partially collapsed lung nodule. I was very startled by the news as our old vet had never said anything about asthma and hearing your cat’s lung is partially collapsed is pretty scary. Dr. Adkins took the time to answer all my questions and walked me through the x-rays explaining how Stormy has most likely had asthma her whole life going by the lung scaring. I was devastated that no one had caught her asthma before this. Dr Adkins was able to prescribe some medications and an inhaler for Stormy and she is doing much better already. The staff has been wonderful checking in on Stormy and asking how she is doing. I’m so gratefully everyone took such good care of my baby. I’m excited to get my other cats looked at knowing they will be in good hands.

Upon taking my cat to a new vet, we found that Smart Vet had never checked her Thyroid. She is a 12 year old cat who has been losing weight but they ran a wellness blood work. I didn't know it didn't include thyroid. I should have asked. But instead of running further blood work, getting all the liver levels instead of just 2, had us do multiple ultrasounds that were unneeded. Had us give her Denamarin she really didn't need. So I've been thinking for a year we were treating her when really, she was just getting a bandaid.
My vet explained it as they had a different approach, but he stated for a 12 year old cat, he would have run the other liver levels and thyroid before doing scans and a supplement that was not finding out the root cause.
My girl has likely had this for years, I asked smartvet to do a senior wellness exam last year, and this is what I got. My cat has been starving. Went from 12 pounds to 7.
But when I tried to schedule another exam recently, they told me to push it to November as she wasn't due for any shots until then ......... They also changed my appointment from in home to in office without speaking to me.
HIGHLY WOULD NOT RECOMMEND SMARTVET. Te convenience of in home visits does not make up for their subpar treatment of my baby.
I'd like to note, from the screenshots, they only saw Mist in office when she was there for scans and had been sedated with gabapentin. I was not trying to drug my skinny cat just to take her to the office ... Hence why I scheduled at home. By their language, they changed the appointment before they even spoke with me.
Update: 9/19/24
This place has gone severely downhill. We are not sure if they have new untrained staff or what happened but I would not recommend going here. Our most recent experience is that they have trouble keeping their records straight. They also change scheduled appointments without even talking to you.
We are going back to somewhere that actually cares about our babies.
Original review:
They made time for our pet when she desperately needed it. The mobile vets who came were kind and gracious through the entire process.

We recently moved to Normal. Several weeks later our dog developed a rash and was scratching nonstop. We tried getting into at least 6 vets, but no one would see us quickly. Luckily, we called SmartVet, and they gave us an appt the next morning. We were so very relieved. The staff and dr couldn't have been nicer. We would definitely recommend them.

My beloved Mia crossed the rainbow bridge at this facility when I had to make the very heart wrenching decision to end her suffering. Over three years later, I am still grieving her.
I trusted this facility to provide care to her, and further trusted them when that moment came.
We adopted a new dog in Aug '21 and have continued to bring her here for care due to the trust which was developed.
Last week, we adopted a young pup and tried to make an appointment online. The number displayed on their website allowed texts to be sent to schedule services and such. Except this number went to a private individuals personal phone who has no association with the practice.
We contacted them to express our surprise and disappointment that our personal information was sent to an unauthorized third party. Hopefully the individual is honest and doesn't try to steal or identity.
When contacting the practice about this, we were met with a feeling of disregard for our concerns. In my opinion, that is a big breach of trust, especially when they shared no remorse.
The story continues on, but I'm going to leave it out in the interest of brevity
Unfortunately this breach of trust has resulted in the practice losing two patients.

We've been with SmartVet for a while, but they recently redesigned their website and had a personal phone number unaffiliated with the practice set up to text for appointments. I inadvertently sent our personal information to a very frustrated stranger who said they'd received at least 8 other messages containing personal information from other patients. On top of this, they're now requiring a deposit for Saturday appointments because they've had a few no-shows. Cool story, but how about you punish the offenders with a no-show charge, not the loyal customers who have never missed any appointments and have likely paid thousands of dollars for your services over the years. The practice manager Liz messaged me apologizing for the website issue, but then doubled down on the deposit requirement by telling me that she knows "change is hard." That level of arrogance and condescension is sadly becoming business as usual these days. We're not inclined to entertain that level of foolishness. While we've never had any medical complaints, these administrators seem to only speak one language. Money. Plenty of other local vets happy to have our business.

Horrible vet's office with terrible communication. I have never met a doctor that was so cold and uncaring. Every question was treated with annoyance by the doctor and she talked to us like we were just wasting her time. We called in several times needing follow up information and calls were not returned. We were left completely on our own and finally gave up and went elsewhere. Our new vet said there were several treatments that our pet desperately needed that this clinic refused to provide. He also found concerning test results that Smartvet never bothered discussing with us in their records. Dealing with Smartvet was a terrible experience. Go literally anywhere else.

My kitten, Buttercup is 10 months old. Our first visit to Smart Vet upon adoption was wonderful. I will say the staff have been very kind during both visits. That is unfortunately where the positivity ends, though. A couple of weeks ago I took her in due to an increased respiratory rate and an odd sound she was increasingly making. During our visit, I made it apparent that I was cautious of spending money because I am a college student, but that I would get whatever was necessary done and figure it out. The doctor (don't want to name names publicly) told me that she was not concerned and that Buttercup appeared healthy. She noted that the gagging sound which I showed a video of, was her coughing up and swallowing a hair ball. In addition, she said that I could continue to monitor at home and did not think an X-ray was needed at that time. Buttercup's respiratory rate in her chart was even put in as 30. I take this at home often and it is 60-70 when she is at rest. I took her to another vet for a second opinion. The new vet immediately heard the rapid/impaired breathing and said the X-rays were a need. She also found something wrong with her ear that Smart Vet did not notice 3 days prior. In the end, we found out Buttercup had a fungal infection which was severely affecting her lungs and would have been fatal within as soon as a couple of months if I had listened to Smart Vet and simply monitored. PLEASE BE CAREFUL AND FOLLOW YOUR GUT!!

This place is amazing. They helped us through illnesses with our 16 year old kitty. They were there for us when she passed. They are now helping keep our two new kittens happy and healthy!

I was very impressed with my first visit. They were very informative and receptive to my thoughts and questions. Aspen was at ease the entire time. I see why my dad has been recommending them! I also appreciated the follow up as it felt very personal. Thank you!
