Produce World on Cumberland is a fantastic, family-owned grocery store that has been serving the community for over 40 years. It is a go-to destination for fresh and healthy food, known for its incredible variety of high-quality produce. Customers love the good selection, good prices, and very international offerings. The store also has a great deli, a lovely bakery, and a huge selection of cheeses and smoked meats. There is a great butcher with Halal meats available as well. The staff are knowledgeable and helpful, and the prices are competitive. However, several significant criticisms are noted. There are repeated problems with the meat department, with customers reporting that meat is sometimes rotten even when not expired, specifically advising against purchasing the ribs. Mold has also been found on packaged fruit like blackberries. Furthermore, a major concern involves the behavior of some staff members. Multiple reviews describe an awkward, strange assistant manager and another employee who are perceived as prejudice and bias. They are accused of following customers, specifically minorities or those who are not Ukrainian or European, around the store and making unfair assumptions, treating them like potential shoplifters. This behavior is called ignorant and racist. Despite these serious issues, some customers note that other staff, referred to as the "amigos," are very good people and are the reason they keep coming back to what is otherwise considered a good store with great produce.
