8 years ago my son died and I had to put everything I owned in storage. A year later I started going thru my belongings, then my daughter died and I had all the possessions of her four bedroom home. So thru the last eight years i have had many units rented at once. Thru the struggles and tears and work Tammy was always there for me. The quality of her customer service is off the charts, 5 stars isn’t enough. If I ever had a problem or question she was always there to resolve the issue or explain whatever question I had. In the years past since first becoming a customer I have referred many people to Cube Smart - North Chicago. In my opinion, the best on the North Shore.

Tammy is SO helpful and and one of best reasons to store your things North Chi facility. She was personable, knowledgeable, and made our move-in to facility easy.
The facility is clean and easy to access off route 137; the one thing I'll say after being a customer for 10 years is watch your rates. After the promotional first year period, your monthly fee goes up CONSIDERABLY.

Everytime I come here i get treated with so much respect! Tammy is such a great person and knows her stuff. So helpful beyond what anyone else has ever done since I've been renting out these storage units.

First of all, Tammy and Carlos at the North Chicago Cube Smart provide great service. They are very helpful and customer-oriented. The reason for this rating is the price increases (that I am guessing come from corporate). Not only were there double-digit price increases, but they occurred at less than 12-month intervals. This was my experience for a 10X15 unit:
Sep 2020: $97 (Price after their introductory offer)
Sep 2021: $114 (17.5% increase). Then, 9 months later...
May 2022: $135 (18.4% increase = 24.6% annualized)
April 2023: $153.00 (13.3% increase = 14.5% annualized)
...and for a 10X10 unit:
Jun 2021: $76 (Price after their introductory offer)
May 2022: $90 (18.4% increase = 20.1% annualized)
Apr 2023: $101 (12.2% increase = 13.3% annualized)
I am a customer who used autopay and never got a late charge.
This is how Cube Smart treats their most loyal customers (until they get fed up like I did and are no longer customers).
I have since been able to consolidate everything into one unit at another site, closer to where I now live and I pay $99 monthly (and this is NOT an introductory price)!

Cube Smart Storage North Chicago IL was fairly competitively priced although there are much expensive storage facilities in the area. However initially when I agreed to use this dump because they offered a price - but then jacked it up 24% in three months. Therefore, I will be posting alternative companies to use for storage that are much more economical, vermin free, cleaner and offer more for your money without the hassle.
