Excellent communication paired with timely and high quality service are what set The Last Detail leagues above other places I have worked with. I would without hesitation recommend Tom and his talented team.

My 1983 Fiat Spider had pointless debt removal, the paint wet sanded and polished here. The tired, black paint now looks fantastic. I have had several cars sold, repaired, restored or polished here. The work is always top notch and Tom explains everything that was done to your vehicle. I highly recommend The Last Detail.

Like a kid in the candy store, I press my nose against the window and salivate, looking at all these beautiful and beautifully restore vehicles. Tom is a true connoisseur of vintage motor cars, and a guy you can trust. Their service and maintenance are beyond compare. It is worth coming in just to take a look around. Be prepared- you will fall in love with something there.

Over the years Tom and his staff in Lake Bluff have performed work on our automobiles ranging from removing roadway striping paint over-spray to collision damage. They also repaired a deep door ding using paintless repair method. Their work has always been flawless and I highly recommend this shop.

I had paint splattered all over the front end of my car from driving on the highway. After going through 3 car washes not a single droplet of that overspray came off. A friend of mine recommended that I see Tom at the last detail and I'm so glad I did. My car looks brand new! Totally recommend this place. Great customer service too.

I'll let the court of public opinion decide if this review is warranted. Based on 3 independent mechanics i was advised to write this. As a favor to Last Detail Client Tom advised them to have my Range Rover (seized engine for 2 yrs) sent to help me get a better wholesale sale price. I agreed on the premise that any help would be appreciated. After 2-3 weeks from towing the truck to them i was called to say sorry for not attending to it and that they were busy. No worries because truck is scrap anyways. I told Tom that i was looking to get better than auction for it so any help was welcome. I was asked 3 weeks later if they could purchase keys because mine did not sync ($400) i agreed No further direction was given or was any work of any kind authorized. Never did i sign a release to apply work to truck. 2 weeks later I'm called to ask if i knew engine had seized!! What!! 2 yrs prior (2012 85,000 miles. Crazy but true. He than tell me he's out over $2000 of work in and that it is at a new shop(i already had an offer from this other shop). The truck was only worth $5000-6000. I would never agree to a penny's worth of work on scrap vehicle. Line of communication broke down somewhere and Tom demanded he be paid for services rendered without and agreement between us. He suggested he went out of his way to represent me truck and under charged for the work that was unauthorized. Long and short is i paid the money against the advice of attys and garage owners. In my 40yrs and 20 plus vehicles this is a 1st. I lost 40% of the value of my vehicle. I offered to split the difference and find a happy medium but he demanded full pymt. Lesson learned never trust a favor. Never not sign an agreement. Never believe in the integrity of someone that you don't personally know. Shame on me. This is the 1st poor review i have ever written that i wasn't able to resolve an issue so it would not come to this. But Shame on Last Detail for Taking NO Accountability for their error. Just plain Wrong!!!!

I can't say enough about Tom and his crew. They definitely take a lot of pride in what they do. I've been a customer for over 20 years and without exception every repair I've needed, from hail damage to major front end damage has been completed professionally, thoroughly and efficiently. My cars have looked perfect when they're done. They take the hassle out of the entire experience, including dealing with the insurance companies. They truly take care of things to The Last Detail!

Tom is tops. We have been using him for years. No one compares on quality and attention to detail. He is always fair and bends over backwards to work with your insurance company. Also nice that enterprise rent a car is in the same building! Worth the drive to Lake Bluff!

I recently purchased a 1968 Shelby Mustang. As you might expect, a car that old has a lot of rattles and vibrations. The team at the last detail did a marvelous job of tightening up every loose bolt and bushing. The car now drives superbly.

I purchased my 3rd last black car.. Being 20 years old there were many "swirl" marks in the finish. While I could have taken the car to other detailers for half the price; I wanted to make sure it was the job was done right and Tom set my expectations and the black finish came out perfect; I saw the value immediately!

I brought my 65 t-bird to the Last Detail because of its sales of quality restored classic cars, I assumed it would also be good at repairing/finishing classic cars (This review is just for their repairing of my car, not for their restored care sales business). After 10 or so hours on my convertible top/mechanism and more time on my sequential turn signals both went out again, but I didn't return. I spent about $6,000 or so in repairs with some done well, and the above not. But my main concern was the problems not uncovered. My car road about 9" high in the rear, steered poorly, ran roughly and braked poorly. I ended up mostly diagnosing the issues myself and had a BP put in the correct leaf springs (The Last Detail just referred me to a frame/suspension specialist), a new power steering pump, new valve lifters replacing the old and sticky ones and a power brake unit, for maybe $1100 or so. Runs, tracks and handles great now. I can see where they thought my car was junk because it ran poorly and had an as yet unrestored interior (though the body panels were done beautifully). The Last Detail didn't take my car or me seriously, apparently. I still go to the showroom with my grandkids, may even help my son or grandsons, buy one someday, I just wouldn't go to the repair side of the business.
