This company was subcontracted by a larger company (Hercules Moving Solutions) for our move, and it has been horrible so far. At this point our delivery is postponed after what has already been 22 days, and they only send an email update once or twice a week. They don’t respond to emails and don’t take phone calls. I have left voice messages with no return call. Hopefully our belongings arrive eventually, and in decent condition, but I have my doubts based on the way things have went so far.
Update: our belongings showed up late on the 39th day. Of course many were damaged and some missing. Not a single box was salvageable for reuse. The moving truck showed up with one person, dragging some items between the truck and apartment.
Read the fine print in that for missing, damaged, or destroyed items you would have to get additional insurance as the insurance provided only covers a rate of $0.60 per lb per item. So as you receive your destroyed bookcase that weighed 25lbs, you have to file claim with multiple pictures, make and model, and additional information to potentially receive a max of $15.
This has been an eye opener for me. First Class Movers had no care, as they obviously threw, dragged, and trashed our belongings between multiple moving trucks.
If you don’t get enough insurance to cover your belongings entirely, you may very well be left in the same position with a bunch of trashed and lost belongings.
In hindsight I wish I would have went with a company that did not contract with other carriers and could directly move our belongings without the delay and having them loaded and reloaded into multiple trucks over the course of 39 days.
We spent nearly $5,000 dollars on the move and are going to have to purchase hundreds of dollars worth of replacement items that were broken or lost.
I strongly recommend not using First Class Movers or Hercules Moving Solutions who contracted the work to them. What a nightmare!!

List bottom half of my $4200.00 china hutch, around 10 totes, over charged. Broken items, very poor communcation, found the bottom half of chuna hutch a couple days after delivery, and just tell me it will be on the next truck going out of Washington State to mid west which was about 2 weeks ago. I would NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY TO Anyone a

Worst experience of my life. I will never work with this company. Avoid them at all costs. They work with a broker called New Start Relocation.

Disappointed with my experience using First Class Movers. They will lure you in by nice and responsive customer service to make the sale. But they nickel and dime you for EVERYTHING even after you sign on a quote. I waited weeks for my items with no way to find out when they would arrive. I had items arrive damaged and missing. And to top it all off my insurance claim was denied for items they lost in transit. Would not recommend. Other moving companies will quote you higher prices...but honestly there's a reason why you pay more for better service.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!! They may say that they are the actual movers, but the aren't - THEY ARE A BROKER! The delivery driver confirmed that the company who we first signed up with was not the company who delivered our items.
They quadrupled our price, charged us $900 too much at the time of delivery, and did not adhere to their delivery time, making us sit in the parking lot of our storage unit for 6 hours waiting on them. They use non-English speaking workers to manipulate you. They are rude and predatory. Our savings is gone because of them and we still carry a feeling of being exploited. They made what should have been a fresh, exciting relocation an absolutely miserable move, full of angst. STAY AWAY!!!

This hopes to be the most deserved love letter a long standing and endlessly devoted customer could write. There aren't enough stars available.
My relationship with First Class Moving and Storage goes back decades. With No other connection to anyone at the company other than being the world's most grateful client to have found them. I have used them for multiple moves, complicated divisions between multiple locations and storage in the same moves and even a no notice emergency move for ill family members. I have been present for some and absent but left color coded notes with tips and beverages for them for others. Every time has been flawless and a deep sigh of relief. The crews are wizards at combining efficiency and speed with the most careful packing, wrapping, carrying and moving of anything from big furniture to more fragile, small or antique pieces. They are polite, friendly (such great people!) and we really don't realize how amazing moving can be until it is done exceptionally well. When my things have come out of their clean and climate controlled storage, a year plus later, they are all as good as when they went in. I have never had even a hint of a disappointment or any problem whatsoever with any of their services. They continually exceeded my expectations even after I got use to their flawless service.
I am privileged to say I have built a relationship (beloved and trust kind- no compensation or financial benefit) with them and if this doesn't tell you how great a company it is, the staff is the same, decades later. Heidy at the helm of coordinating everything is a human unmatched. She is truly an angel and makes dealing with these stressful tasks an actual joy. No joke. She is an exceptional person in what she does and how she does it.
I don't remember the year of my first move with them- best guess is early 2000's. I've used them at least a half dozen times personally (often with the same crew) and referred more people than I can count. Not one friend or referral I have sent their way has ever had less than the BEST experience. I now live far away and had to call and consult on some odd moving questions for a few things back in Chicago. Heidy dazzled me as much as ever. And helped me above and beyond.
Look, it's moving, it's stressful and overwhelming physically. We hire people bc most of us can't fathom doing it ourselves. It's often expensive and involves transporting all of our personal possessions. This is not the time to find the cheapest quote or not care who gets it done and how it gets done. I've heard horror stories from friends who used various other movers. First Class is more than worth their services in gold and they all work to make it the least stressful and most positive experience it can be. Be good to the crews, tip and pat yourself on the back for finding the best movers you could find! They are worth every dime and then some.

Used First Class for a 95 mile move from Deerfield to Roscoe IL and two night on-the-truck storage. Can't say enough good things about the entire process from getting an in-person quote to the foreman -Jonnie and his team! They were careful, worked like dogs, protecting all flooring and carpets to wrapping all furniture, even my grill and patio set. Move Out and Move in went smoothly as they communicated very well every step of the way and took great care of our belongings. They even helped me add felt pads to the bottom of all furniture on Move In day. A few of our things did not have them and the new floors needed protection. Hire First Class with CONFIDENCE!

First Class Moving and Storage lived up to their name. Working with Ronan and Heidi in the office was a joy. I could tell I was in knowledgeable hands, and this reduced my anxiety about the big move of my Mom's furniture to various locations. The team that came to move the furnishings was professional, organized, hardworking, and just generally helpful and thoughtful. With your help we made an apartment into a home for a refugee family, and we helped formerly homeless older folks live with dignity. Thank you!

I used First Class Moving & Storage to move me from the southwest suburbs to Chicago and it was a very good experience. I was only at that location for 10 months and did not open many boxes. I needed to move again 1 1/2 miles away from that location and that experience did not go well. I had to be out of that location in two days and in the middle of the move they decided that they were not going to move me. I was devastated. I was hoping to be out of that place by the end of the day and instead I had to do the rest of the packing, taking belongings down stairs, carrying boxes up stairs etc. My body has paid the price for doing this with doctor and chiropractor visits and massages to try to heal the pain. To say the least I am still in pain for having to do the job they said they were going to do. Very unprofessional and I would not recommend First Class Moving & Storage, Inc.

Got off the phone with Doug supposedly the owner of the company. Absolutely shady sales tactics of aggressive you better take my quote right now or you’re guaranteed to get ripped off by every other company style. Couldn’t even get a word in without him forcing me to read his email like I’m a child before I hung up on this jerk. Don’t bother with these people. Dirty tactics means dirty business Im willing to bet if I went with these guys there would have been some stupid hidden fees they didn’t want me noticing since I HAD TO SIGN NOW.

Moved household belongings 2000 miles. Sent list and pictures of everything going and got a quote. The truck showed up on a Saturday. The driver immediately said we had double amount of what was quoted. And the price would be double and it would have to be cash! So we ended up having to leave 2 rooms of furniture. Then they left a $600 vacuum but took the attachments! They took a mattress we said to leave and left a good mattress. They said they would deliver to new place within 2 weeks. Didn't show and rarely even answered the phone when I would call. Showed up after 4 weeks. The driver had no help and had to unload and put together furniture all by himself. The whole experience was a nightmare start to finish.

These guys use way too many boxes and paper padding! I believe, at least twice more than other companies would, and four time more than we would use if packed ourselves. Yes, nothing got damaged or lost, which is the good part. But as a result, it took us insane amount of time to unpack and unwrap everything, and we are left with a whole dining room full of boxes filled with their paper. We have flattened down the boxes that we were able to empty, but there is just so much wrapping paper that it has filled almost entire dining room. And yes, they did charge for those boxes and packaging. At first I did not want to complain, because I was sure that they would at least remove all that once we are done unpacking, as the movers told us on the moving day. But today I called and they refused to take back anything but the flattened boxes. They suggested that I can recycle the wrapping paper myself. Well, that will take at least 10 of my recycling bins to recycle all that! I will pay a 3rd party for this garbage collection resulted from 1stclassmovers, and I don't recommend this service.

SCAM ALERT:Rushed me into putting in a deposit and that it could be refunded up until 5 days before the move. I ended up going with a different company and requested a refund. They then tried to convince me they were going to be the cheapest rather than just giving me my refund. After requesting a refund about 5 times, they finally called me and told me that I would have to file a dispute with my bank in order to get my money back.
