We are visiting Chicago's Northern suburbs, and discovered our favorite grocery chain, TRADER JOE'S. This TJ's is stocked with the same house brands we find in Southern California. The employees are kind and knowledgeable. You know, they listen when you ask a question, then take you to that item. Checking out is quick, easy, and the bagger will move it to your car. Incidentally, TJ,s reusable bags have a long life.
And yes, the prices are good too.
There's an excellent selection of fruits and vegetables, packaged meats, cheese, unique spices, vegan and gluten free foods.
But the real joy of Trader Joe's is their selection of unique snacks, entrees, and desserts. However, there is a catch. TJ's branded products are constantly changing. If you see it and like it - buy it. It may not be there tomorrow.
Everything's ADA compatible. Plenty of free parking.

I like every TJ's, but when given the choice I drive to the Glenview location because it's bigger, the staff is kookier, and customers are less fancy. Don't get me wrong, this TJ's location gets the job done, it's just that the Glenview store is a magical vibe ?

Trader Joe’s is usually so great. Customer service is something they excel at- making people feel welcome, but that was not the case today at the Northbrook location. I walked in to get a few things at 3pm on a busy Saturday and took a basket rather than a cart. I picked up a bag of romaine lettuce and the worker gave me a look and then chose me out of all the people to look at and ask “can I help you find something?” There were families, couples and he chose me. Why, because I was alone? Did I look suspicious? I was offended, put my lettuce back and left the store. I will be shopping at other locations but he caused the store to not deserve my business. Not everyone is smiling with their husband or young child while shopping…but that should not be a punishment. How unfortunate because there were some items I would have liked to purchase.

Don’t forget to bring your bags!
Northbrook TJ is spacious, well stocked, with friendly employees. Do you love sourdough bread as much as I do? They tend to run out of it often, so be aware and grab one extra if you see it. Weekdays in am I think is the best time to shop. The worst time? Every day after 3pm, the store is full and super busy. We love love TJ and comfort and variety of items it provides at fair prices. Thank you thank you! your forever costumers and fans.

Most obnoxious store.The masked register girl couldn’t even see the items to scan. And then continued to offer to go to a different store because I was unaware of the bag charge here in Northbrook! Clearly taking advantage of the clients here in Northbrook!

Always packed around here. But it was easy getting through the line. Had to buy that one pink sparkling wine because they always do such a good job with those samples!

love the food. I love this location of Traders joes. they have the cases of water I need and very helpful people. I live in Skokie and I go there.
