My dog had eaten chocolate cookies. When we got to Blue Pearl at 8 pm, we waited 5 minutes to see the triage vet tech. She looked at the amount my dog had eaten, took vitals, talked to the vet and said that she would be fine. She told me what to expect (possible GI issues) and offered for them to force the dog to throw up if I still wanted that, and explained the price to me. I declined, we went home and all was well. No charge since we only went to triage.

Very expensive and in my opinion do a lot of unnecessary procedures. My dog needed fluids and food. They could have done that then reevaluated. Instead for $5,000 for a one night stay, they did ultrasounds and several rounds of bloodwork Immediately. My dog was very sick and they helped her but they have no compassion for people. Sent me home with several hundred dollars of medication my dog doesn’t need at a huge mark up.

My golden, Juno, got a hold of 120 x 15mg selegiline pills (my older dog’s dementia meds) and had to be taken to BluePearl to receive emergency intervention. Initially, I took her to BluePearl Skokie since they were luckily less than 5 minutes from me. Unfortunately, the Skokie location wasn’t able to keep her overnight, so I ended up transporting her (after she was stabilized) to BluePearl Northfield. Between the time I dropped her off and the time the next day I got to pick her up and bring her home, I couldn’t have called less than 5 or 6 times. Each time I did, the vet technician that answered gave me a full report on how Juno was doing and what the next steps looked like. I’ve attached a couple pictures of her after she was discharged on 2/9. Thanks so much for saving her, all, I truly cannot express my gratitude.

Brilliant service! The entire staff was on point with our Cardiologist Dr. Ross Feldtreber providing literally The best quality of care I’ve ever experienced, culminating in a diagnosis and unorthodox treatment plan, we expect will save our pets life.

I called this locationlate on 2/3/2024 in desperate need of help as my dog had ingested something poisonous and wanted advice on what steps to take, whether it be something I can do at home, or bring him in. The woman that answered was extremely rude, and when I asked “Is there anything I can do?” Her response was “Can you elaborate what you mean by ‘what can you do?’” I then proceeded to explain to her what steps I hadtaken and asked if she thinks I should bring him in. Her response was “yeah I would suggested taking him to the ER, but right now we don’t have beds for him anyway.” she not only wasted my time (mind you i’m pressed for time because my dog was poisoned), but also didn’t provide a suggestion on where to go next. I was so upset and distraught and felt helpless. Don’t go here. If you’re closer to Medvet, go there. They are so much kinder and compassionate. Do better Blue Pearl.

Great staff, vet techs, front desk and doctors but….. hearing “we will be right back with your estimate” and then curious what happens if you can’t afford outrageous fees up front or don’t have insurance seems cold. Great care. Exorbitant fees. I am not saying I don’t appreciate how sick my dog was and now she’s better but it’s very privileged access late at night to save your pet.

Went in for a follow up for my dogs heart condition and it was quick and easy. Vet explained what was going on and was glad to hear that no changes are needed at this time.

I was referred to BluePearl by my regular vet, after I needed a surgery consult for my cat. The staff and doctors were attentive and asked the right questions. It was a conversation through and through, always keeping me in the loop and ensuring that I had enough information and power to make a decision about my cat. They even called before my appointment to offer other times that might have been convenient for me, without being prompted. Overall it was a pleasant experience for an emotionally heightened day. Will likely keep in contact as needed.

First time that my dog needed to go to an emergency facility. This was late on Friday night with no one else in the waiting area. Worst experience for me and my dog. They took my dog in the back and left me and my son in a room for almost 2 hours with no updates on my dog. Everytime I went up to the front desk to ask, it was as if they were annoyed with me asking. I had no idea where my dog was and I am sure she was scared. I understand that there could be other emergencies and they prioritize each case, but to not be updated or given a status is just rude and mean. They made it seem as if my dog’s emergency didn’t matter. Will never consider that facility in the future.

I was very disappointed in how the Dr. Bedside manner was. I called to ask questions about lab work, etc and she rushed my husband and I off the phone. The Dr. Made us feel like we were bothering them with our questions. The receptionist are very nice I will say, kind and pleasant. I will not go back to this facility for any of my pets needs. I am not sure of the doctors see these reviews or of they even care. However, if you are reading this review part of being a veterinarian is learning how to communicate with people. Comforting owners of pets who are scared and news by answering their questions with kindness and compassion. Because of my experience with your facility, you lost any of my future care for my fur baby.
