During the Christmas shopping season 2023 Macy's flagged my wife's credit card for fraud (not providing any reason) which caused our gift to my granddaughter not to be ordered (now unavailable). Not cool, Macy's. Not cool at all.

I went to the store to exchange a coat we bought online for a bigger size. I first went to the section where the coats are to get the right size with the expectation of taking it to the counter to do the even exchange, but the size I needed wasn't on the floor. I go to the counter for returns simply to ask if they could check the system for the size I needed so I can do the exchange, and Barb was of no help. I don't know if her braids were too tight or her glasses were causing her to have a migraine, but her customer service towards me was not helpful at all. I just don't understand why people come to work with bad attitudes, especially during the holiday season. Barb did not want to check the system for whatever reason so I opted to go back to that section to find an associate to check the system.Gio, Skyler, and Pedro were awesome and helped me find the coat in the store. The exchange was super simple. They had great energy, smiled, and helped me in under 7 minutes.

Had to return something purchased online, figured at the store is easier. First cashier I found working at a random spot wasn't open, the store is basically a maze. Found the main checkout / return spot. Well the line was LONG and going slow despite 3 people working. Ok, fair enough it's Almost December. Sign above the registers clearly state we can help you check out, pay macys bill, and process returns. So I wait 10 minutes in line and then I'm told they cannot accept jewelry returns at this spot... nice. Had to walk across the giant store to find jewelry and return it there. One of the returns had 2 items on it, and it took them a while to figure it out. One wouldn't come up with the provided QR code. This is why people don't use brick and mortars anymore. Giant sign could have text saying for jewelry returns visit that section. Most of the items here are just mass produced junk from China anyway.

Dear Macy's, Your customers and employees deserve better conditions. How long have the escalators and elevators been "broken"? Shame on you for not caring AT ALL about accessibility and esthetics. Oakbrook Center is a nice environment but sadly Macy's is not.

Thank god for online shopping! I usually do that, from this company . This time have a wedding to go to, we went there for obvious reasons. Mens dept. was professional and helpful got the suit perfectly fitted 1 man is all they had and he definitely did all he could. We were happy with our purchase. The women's dept. oh lord forget it, angry attitudes and many that could barely understand English. Extremely understaffed. They dont have no way in the shoe dept to measure your feet they said try on shoes they are not allowed to give any devices or touch you at all, I am fine with not touching me, I am not fine with not even having a ruler, to see if my shoe size is different for differnt shoes. Tried to call then for 2 weeks before we went they never answered their phone at all in ANY dept. I can prove that. We ended up speaking to someone in Ohio they even tried and didn't either . I wont be returning there again sadly. Just keep ordering online..

I have to admit that I miss Marshall Fields, but they have done a great job modernizing this store. Moving housewares out of the basement and moving it upstairs does work. My tip is check out the discounted cloths section.

So I bought these 16k or 18k white gold earrings from the Macy's fine jewelry department at the Water Tower location 6-10 years ago. The associate that sold me these earrings, without me asking, let's me know that i have two free cleanings per year (which I have never used), and that if I ever lose the backing to my earring, I can come in for a free replacement. The gentlemen here had no idea about this, and I had no idea that they would be shocked to hear such a thing.I can dig it if policies change, but waiting for service, to be told something doesn't exist without checking (by calling) with the Macy's at Water Tower Place. If, by chance, this is supposed to be the distinguished and posh feel section of the departments in Macy's, then I feel that the representation for Macy's should try a little harder to resolve a customer issue, and even more, when there was a guarantee made.Just disappointed.

I had a couple of gift items to return/exchange and things started off well; the return counter was well staffed and the person who helped me was friendly and efficient. I left with a credit for the amount of the items on a card and thought I'd be able to quickly find a couple of replacement items. I was hoping to get a couple of sweaters to wear to work, but found they had almost nothing other than sweatshirts in my size. Many racks had a confusing mix of items (eg pants, tops and skirts all together) with sizes all mixed together. I expect this at a discount store, but was surprised to see this here. I finally found one sweater in my size and bought that. I thought I'd use the remaining balance on some food treats like Frango mints, but all they had left were the less popular flavors. Yes, I know it's the week after Christmas, but the whole food section is much less interesting than it was back in the Marshall Fields days. The store also appeared somewhat run down. Multiple escalators were out and the floors and walls are showing wear. I gave the card with remaining balance to a family member who lives nearby and shops here.

This is my nearest Macys and almost every time I've gone shopping in store recently, I've been disappointed with Customer Service. I went in the afternoon today with my daughter to buy some Christmas ornaments. I saw some I liked online but wanted to see them in person since it said they were available for pickup. I looked around and only saw 2 of the ornaments I wanted to buy. I went up to a Caucasian woman across from the tree displays who was putting away some of the clothes. I asked her for the ornaments I couldn't find and she said she couldn't help me. She claimed that I had to order the items for pickup because they couldn't go find them for me. Her overall attitude like if I was dumb made me want to report her to a supervisor but I was already upset so I left. Supposedly BOPS which is order pickup is separate and we can't go in the store and find the items ourselves. I had to come back home and place an order for pickup for items I could've grabbed myself. This was very frustrating and ridiculous to say the least. So if you ever want to go in store to look for items that should be available for pickup, you might as well place the order online. Of course now my order is ready with all items available for pickup.

Visited Macy's in OakBrook, IL today and the store looked like a war zone. Clothes all over the floor, in every department. So disappointing. We walked out and shopped at Von Maur instead.

Definitely not what it used to be. No employees to be found except behind fine jewelry and the Clinique counter. The only employees that approached me were the sales ladies from Lancome and Clinique.Store was NOT clean. Socks, scarfs etc.on the floor. I was looking for pajamas and a bra, & the Lingerie department was not shoppable. I also went to housewares looking for a stockpot and most items are not priced. I had to walk everything to the scanner. Tablecloths and napkins were a mess. Total waste of time for me. I won't be going back.

An hour before close on a Saturday and one register open on the entire floor in Oak Brook. The was nobody around to assist with returns in a department. The store was a mess. Very poor management to have the store like that. I will not purchase anything at Macy's. Wish I could give zero stars.

Came here to get a new suit. They had a pretty decent selection and sizes for each suit although some styles still did not have my size (I'm a pretty middle of the road fit). The lady we spoke with mostly was friendly and helpful however a couple other employees we came across throughout our time in the store seemed fairly unapproachable (such as the lady I asked where the bathrooms were). Biggest complaint is there are TONS of pins on the floor in the dressing room. This is my biggest pet peeve of trying on clothes because I don't feel like getting a pin in my foot - go figure. And this place had at least double the amount of pins on the floor than any other store I've been to. 5 stars to the lady that helped me and the selection of suits compared to other department stores. 2 stars for the other employees and the amount of pins on the floor in the changing rooms.
