Ordered a small bottle of sparkling San pelligrino from the fridge of Nordstrom’s coffee shop. got charged $5.15…….. not even the most expensive grocery stores charge that for a FULL SIZE TABLE BOTTLE….. and on top of this, after paying for my overpriced 16.9 oz of sparkling water, the audacity of the register to ask if i want to TIP????? what did the barista do? collect sparkling water from Italy for me? the barista didn’t even lift a finger??? I GRABBED the water from the fridge??? the nerve of this store.

Nordstrom at Oak Brook Center is still the top standard/high watermark of all department stores. The service at this Nordstrom is exceptional. I shop in the men’s clothing and shoe department on an intermittent basis. The associates who work these sections, especially in the clothing department, really have a fashion sense contextually for each individual.Daniel gave me EXTRAORDINARY assistance in meticulously picking out numerous fashionable pieces that were right on point based on my my must-have foundational fashion preferences like a certain fit, cut, look, etc.Daniel offered the most extraordinary customer service anyone could ever hope for. He didn’t just do his job. He offered an authentic, transparent, two-way conversation and proactively brought me various items to try on that were amazing and would have taken me numerous visits to find and or that I could never find on my own.Daniel has a true eye and fashion sense; and he contextually knows how to help the customer attain a fashion / clothing goal beyond and to the next level than one could imagine or hope for.Many of us have an idea of what we like or wish we could be wearing if availability of items and a budget allowed. We also tend to gravitate towards colors and solids and/or patterns that are safe and know we like; yet branching out into other styles and colors and possible patterns invokes fear (lol) and doubt.I will also ask my fiancé and or others if certain things or colors look good on me because I have a propensity for not liking them or thinking they don’t look good on me.This is where Daniel was able to also help me branch out by meticulously picking out clothing pieces for me that were not only an excellent cut and fit and style but also had exceptional color and pattern, and when I put them on, I instantly fell in love with them.We often don’t know what we truly need or looks good and need the help of an honest expert to help us bravely see the light.Update: I needed to come back to Nordstrom the very next day (Monday), and when I got here at 6:17 PM it was closed! There were numerous other individuals who were trying to get into the store and wondering why it was closed when it’s normally open until 9 PM on Mondays.We ended up calling the store and we found out it was inventory. I have to say that was very tacky. I’m sorely disappointed with the corporate staff who runs all the Nordstrom‘s for we discovered that the other Nordstrom‘s in the suburban area we’re also closed for inventory.Do you know how many of us came out and spent how much in gas and time to just discover that a department store closed three hours early for inventory? Why don’t you do inventory when you’re closed like all other retail establishments, including the one I work for?!We would never close hours before our closing time for inventory.I am not going to take away the five stars that the actual sales associates like Daniel, completely earned and deserved just because the corporate jet set decided to ruin the day of potentially hundreds of individuals coming out to be turned away at each Nordstrom after 6 PM.

I took our 7 year old daughter to Nordstrom at this location as part of a birthday celebration. I wanted her to be able to pick out a special outfit to wear to the other events of the day, and worked with Elvie in the children's department for a personalized shopping experience starting about a month out from the event. Everything was perfect- it was clear that they had taken great care to set up many options in a fitting room in her size and based on our specifications. There was even a little treat and some balloons for her waiting upon our arrival. She had so much fun trying on different outfits, complete with shoes and accessories, and ended up selecting an outfit that fit her personality perfectly. Many staff members and managers stopped by to say hello and they seemed to enjoy helping to make her day special. We will definitely be back!

Please avoid this store. I went in and was helped by a woman named Ria. At the time I thought she was nice. But she is inept at her job. We went home with things missing from our bags, she sent items we ordered to the wrong address and, worst of all, she sold me clothing that did not fit me in areas she measured (like my neck). I’m now at a wedding with clothing that doesn’t fit thanks to an inept woman and her team of moronic assistants. She should not be working in this business as she has absolutely no attention to detail. Then she blamed me for the whole thing. No return call. No responsibility. Rude texts blaming the customer.

Love, love, love this store and specifically this location. Such a large variety of items from high end luxury/designer to some basic. You could spend all day and all of your money in here! But I often frequent the shoes, purses, fragrance and clothing section. Nice staff with great customer service as well.

A beautiful store, a beautiful place to go shopping! Everyone is most professional, helpful, and caring. I love this store! The restaurant has really good food, too.
