While this location is convenient for the last few times they keep charging my card more than the rental agreement. If you don't look at the final receipt you wont know that they are ripping you off. I have to call corporate each time to get it corrected. It's stressful. This has never happened anywhere else and I've been renting cars for over 30 years. I may have to find another location. For anyone reading this, make sure to check your final receipt. This is the madison location in oak park. Other than that the service is OK.

Made an online reservation for a truck a week in advance for a move out of my condo. Got all my printouts and email confirmations and an email a day before I needed the truck, saying it was ready for pick up. So the next day came, I showed up to the location, and there is NOT a single truck in site. Talked to the guys in side, and they seemed confused as to why i was there. Told them I have a reservation for a truck. They checked their computeres, which confirmed that I actually had a reservation. They said they haven't seen a truck at this location in days.. They gave me Customer serves number (which was no help) and they said they'll find me a new truck and will contact me with in 20 min to 2 hours. Never got a call from anyone from budget the whole day. Completely wast of time.Had to go to a different company last minute to find a truck for the move.

I rented a car at a great price, and it was a smooth and affordable experience. The car was clean making it a good choice and a budget for travelers. I recommend it.

The worst car rental company ever. I will NEVER use budget again. I pre-paid for my rental but when I went to pick it up they didn't have the vehicle. They lied and said that they called 3 times to tell me that the vehicle was unavailable, but couldn't provide proof that they tried. It took one click of a button to take my money for the rental but 5 BUSINESS DAYS to give me my money back for their screw up. If I could give ZERO stars I would. If you don't want to stress out about your car rental before a trip, I suggest using ANY other car rental company than budget. Horrible service at this location and even worse service from their customer service line. DON'T RENT FROM HERE IS MY SUGGESTION.

Very pleasant experience. Starting from the person at the counter to the car itself. They were very helpful in explaining me all the details about the rental contract as it was my first time renting out a vehicle. The car was wonderful and they made sure it was in a great condition before renting out, especially because it was a long rentalKudos to Fred, Shaq and their team for a wonderful experience.

We made a reservation with them a month-and-a-half in advance. Day before the reservation we get a call saying they may not have a truck, but that they would let us know. No one called back. Reservation time comes up, and there's no truck. The guy at the counter says someone should've called us... We ask if there's any trucks at nearby Budget locations. He tells us to call the 800 number, and that was that.

I reserved a car to rent for some important travel out of Chicago at the Budget Rent A Car on Division Ave. in Oak Park, Il. I showed up 10 minutes early. I was not impressed with the office, which was a dilapidated structure on stilts. Upon entering I was told the "system was down" and I could not process a rental car until it was rebooted and up and running again. I waited almost an hour as nothing to fix the problem worked. I asked to be contacted in a couple of hours if the rebooted system came up again. I asked if another branch's rental car could be brought to me. I was instead told to drive to Logan Square where I could get another Budget vehicle. This place will never get my business again. The office is a mess, the yard is jammed with parked vehicles, and everything looks like a disorganized mess. There was a reason the computers and phones were down at that place....squirrels must've chewed on the wires or a rotten piece of timber ripped the wiring down ! Avis/Budget, fix this branch up and get it out of 3rd World standards.

People in this location are so greedy , after they found out we booked the car on line for good rate and one month long , easily they claimed there is no car available, when we called the customer service at central budget , they couldn’t believe it, so be careful with this location!

We rented our truck for out of state move and at day and time of pick up location they didn’t have truck available for us. And any other close location didn’t have it. We ended up renting last minute from different company. Stay away FROM BUDGET ! Waste of time

This place deserves zero stars DO NOT rent a car from this place i returned my rental and they charged my card again after I left and when I called I was told because I brought the car back late even tho I returned at the same time as pick up and then told me he couldn't help me and hung up DO NOT rent from this low budget rental place check your card statements if renting from them

Wow. My experience with Budget was a new low. We rented a car for pickup from the airport in Knoxville, TN. My non smoking vehicle smelled strongly like cigarette smoke. (A member of my group is allergic, so this was more than just an inconvenience.) When we told the desk staff about it, we were told there were no other cars available so we drove a smoky car all weekend. Budget, it's never good when your clients are Febreeze-ing your vehicles.At the end of the weekend, I called the Budget customer service line to extend my rental until later in the day due to massive flight disruptions. I was told I'd have to pay an additional day rate to do this, in spite of the smoky car. Then, when I asked for a supervisor, I was offered $30 off for my "inconvenience". BTW, this $30 credit was not applied. The woman who checked in the car was an embarrassment to the Budget brand. She was rude and couldn't be bothered. While I understand staffing shortages and the overwhelming demand for travel in summer 2022, my experience was so negative that I will no longer consider Budget as an option for renting a car.
