This is an incredible place to be in person. I cannot say enough about the level of detail included in every single square inch of the house, designed by FLR, and have to give incredible credit to the Foundation for bringing it back to the level it is. The home and studio shows so well, and the staff may be the friendliest I've experienced at a small museum of this sort. The guided tour was great, and the walking tour was so much fun. Seeing these houses in person is something you have to do at some point. Crazy to think what he was doing back in 1900.

Very interesting tour for anyone interested in FLW and/or architecture. I’ve been to many FLW locations and I found this tour very interesting as it was designed and built quite early in his career. There are elements that are very different from his later style, as well as features that you see in his later works. So it’s interesting to see how he tested and experimented with ideas on this house that he built for his new wife and budding family.

I recently visited the Frank Lloyd Wright Home and Studio, and it was an exceptional experience, deserving a full 5 out of 5 stars from me.Firstly, the architecture is breathtaking. As a Frank Lloyd Wright creation, the building itself is a masterpiece. The design elements, from the intricate details in the stained glass to the unique use of space and light, are quintessentially Wright. Walking through the home and studio, you get a real sense of Wright's innovative and forward-thinking approach to architecture. The guided tour was a major highlight. Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable, not only about the architecture but also about Wright's life and the historical context in which he worked. The anecdotes and insights provided a deeper understanding and appreciation of each room and design element. The tour was engaging and informative, suitable for both those familiar with Wright's work and newcomers. The preservation efforts are commendable. It's clear that great care has been taken to maintain the integrity and authenticity of the space. Seeing Wright's workspace preserved as he used it was particularly fascinating, offering a glimpse into his creative process. The gift shop was a delight as well. It had a great selection of Wright-related merchandise, from books and postcards to more unique items. It's a great spot to pick up a souvenir or gift for an architecture enthusiast.Accessibility was well-handled, with clear signage and helpful staff to assist visitors. The Home and Studio is located in a charming neighborhood, adding to the overall experience of the visit. If I had to point out any negatives, it would be that photography is restricted inside the home and studio. However, this policy is understandable given the need to preserve the historic interiors. In conclusion, the Frank Lloyd Wright Home and Studio is a must-visit for anyone interested in architecture, design, or history. The combination of the stunning space, insightful tour, and well-curated gift shop makes for a perfect rating. It's a truly inspiring and educational experience that I highly recommend.

This is a very cool FLW site to see - you really get to see his ideas in their infancy and if you are familiar with his work it really brings it all together. The studio is such a bonus to get a feel for how he actually worked on things as well. The guides are great as well, and the waking tour is a fun bonus to help you see the neighborhood.

Glad I did the tour, which is very informative. This man is so intelligent, his works must come from the future. He probably traveled back in time. Didn't know how much Asian culture had influenced him and how much he cared about nature, until today.

Frank Lloyd Wright's home and studio. Located in Oak Park, near other FLW projects and the Ernest Hemingway birth home, Tours are 20-30 dollars, depending on whether or not you take the outdoor audio tour. The interior tour is 60 minutes (ours ran longer) and the outdoor audio tour is about 45 minutes.Wright designed this home when he was young and just starting a family, early in his career, when he was still an apprentice. The neat thing about this is that you see how he evolved as an architect.Wright changed this home many times, from adding walls, changing windows, adding different veneers to wall surfaces. You also learn some about Wright's mildly scandalous personal life--leaving his wife, running off to Paris, lovers and wives, spats with associates. You also see FLW the father and the creative. You really get to know the foundation of FLW and get to see some great architecture. Lots of photo ops. The children's playroom is amazing! They have a great gift shop and the volunteer docent was great. Again, you can make a history day out of this area of Oak Park.

Went here on the hour long tour and learned a lot about the historic house from our very knowledgeable tour guide. It was great to understand more about his architectural style and history of the late 19th century. This was definitely a unique experience which inspires me to learn about the other 24 Frank Lloyd Wright structures in Oak Park in the future.

Frank Lloyd Wright Home and Studio is a must-see attraction. My husband and I had a hard time trying to find where we check-in for our tour. Enter through the gift shop and check in at the checkout register. Our tour guide John was tremendous. He took us through over 6,000 square feet of the home that Frank Lloyd Wright designed, built, and lived in. There are so many things to see and learn. John did an excellent job of explaining the history and significance of the home and studio while being funny and entertaining. The hour flew by without me realizing it. It was so much fun. I highly recommend the Frank Lloyd Wright House and Studio for everyone.

I wasn't planning on taking this to her about my parents are in town and they took us. I'm an engineer, not an architecture guy, but the tour was very interesting. I certainly learned more about Frank Lloyd Wright than I ever thought I would know. All of the docents were very helpful and knowledgeable. Our tour guide was engaged and genuinely wanted us to learn, which is not surprising because they were a volunteer. It was a lot of standing so if that's hard on you, you might have some trouble.

Amazing demonstration of FLW architecture in the local area and walking tour is very good; my girls 19 & 12 enjoyed it too! Member of staff was very helpful and knowledgeable; only complaint is that you have to tour to look at the studio and that the walking tour is expensive! $15 per person!!! Great attraction though and the shop is excellent and we all bought a souvenir.

What an inspirational tour! As an artist and designer FLW has always had an influence on my approach to design and our tour guide Alex was amazing! He was informative, clear and professional. A wealth of information; contagious enthusiasm and the details made it one of the best tours I can recall. We’ll done! A must see for anyone if you’re ANYWHERE near Chicago.
