Building is clean and outside grounds good.
Delicious Breakfast.
24-hour Front Desk Clerk.
We stayed here to attend a Family Reunion in town, and they were helpful in reserving rooms for us.
Close to the town of Oglesby, Starved Rock State Park,
and the Highway 39.

Really really dirty. Handprints on headboards and walls and doors and handles. Food splatter on walls. No detailed cleaning at all. I had to ask for a rag and spray to clean the room. It also smelled of cigarettes even though it’s no smoking. When I complained I was handed no smoke air spray. They need new young detailed cleaning staff and it would be worth it.

Great for the purpose needed if you're staying just a night or have an extended stay. Very gracious staff and delicious breakfast. Would recommend to others as it does have a pool to relax in if need be.

We stayed at this hotel during our travels to Michigan. Upon arrival, the front desk staff was noticeably unwelcoming, which set an unfortunate tone for our stay. However, the check-in process itself was relatively quick.
The room presented a mixed experience. While the space appeared to have been recently updated with fresh paint, modern furniture, and new flooring, the bathroom had not received the same attention. It remained outdated, and regrettably, the shower was not properly cleaned, with visible mold or mildew. Additionally, the air conditioning unit was excessively loud, and by morning, both my wife and I experienced scratchy throats, leading us to suspect that the filter had not been cleaned recently. The bed was comfortable but leaned toward the firmer side.
One of the highlights of our stay was the complimentary breakfast, which featured a generous selection, including eggs, bacon, yogurt, waffles, oatmeal, fresh fruit, and a variety of bread, muffins, and cereals.
Upon check-out, we encountered the same front desk staff member, who once again was not particularly friendly or communicative, offering minimal interaction. We were not provided with a receipt, which felt unusual.
Overall, this hotel may be suitable for travelers seeking a budget-friendly place to sleep for the night, but given our experience, we would likely choose to stay elsewhere in the future.

After reading some reviews I was hesitant to book a room here. Since there wasn’t much choice with truck parking I opted to take the chance. The location is easy to access and quiet. Pricing is just right and the rooms were clean, comfortable and did not smell. I’m very picky on smell and since I use a Cpap, that smell will stay in the machine for days. I did not have the lingering smell issue other the usual “hotel smell” which was not to say it’s bad. I stayed here twice in a week and had two different rooms on two different floors. King and double queen. I can’t see the negative reviews honestly. Unless there is a line room somewhere that is just horrible (would be odd), I just don’t see it. Will definitely stay again when in the area. Perhaps soon. The messy bed in the photo is my mess. Otherwise it’s a true representation of the room quality.

Great location for state parks, and the staff was very friendly.
The rooms are incredibly dated. Our bathroom shower felt like something ripped from a public pool and looked to be molding. The Air Conditioner and Fridge also took turns making insanely loud noises every 45 minutes throughout the night, made for a pretty awful night's sleep. Also found trash under the bed that I had to clean up since we had our dog with us. It's a two floor hotel, it doesn't take that long to clean, ridiculous.
I wouldn't choose to stay here unless there was NOTHING else available.

We visited family in rural Illinois, so finding a Best Westen close to our family was an unexpected joy. Unfortunately the room had a distinct odor which reminded me of cigarettes. The price was fair.

Beds were comfy and clean. Pool was the right temp. Staff was friendly. Just buy your own shampoo n body wash at the Dollar General 5 min away. There is a BP gas station in front, McDonald's and subway nextdoor and a Mexican restaurant in the back. Their breakfast included some cereal, muffins and toast.

I have stayed at Best Western’s before and they were all clean and nice. I was given a handicapped accommodation and didn’t request one. Upon entering this location the front area appeared to be clean. When I got to my to my room I found it was a strong musty odor in the room so I opened the window to let the room air out. I sprayed some Lysol to get rid of the odor. When I turned on the air conditioner to circulate the air in the room a more mustier order was coming from the air conditioning unit, so I turned it off too. Based on my understanding the filter, which had to be filled with dirt or mold. The carpeting appeared to be dirty and it looked like it had not been cleaned in a very long time. I left the room for a while hoping the odor would dissipate. Upon my return the order was still strong in the room and I had to leave the windows open all night long and could not get a good nights sleep because I was concerned about my safety being on the first floor. The mattress was not comfortable and had stains on the side of it which were covered by the liner. The next morning to my surprise a black spider met in the bathroom and it ran on to the carpet and it blended in with it and I list sight of it. I got my bag and left this facility. In light of the above, I am requesting a refund for this one night stay due to the lack of cleanliness, poor air quality and pest control at this location. I’m very disappointed that the person at the front desk didn’t inquire about my stay too.

We stayed here because we were passing through and the kids were tired. I would never go back. I'm certain that the bedding was not washed, there were hairs all over the bed. There was also a hair in the sink. Beyond the cleanliness, the actual biggest problem was the fact that I did not feel safe at all. I would not leave the room without my husband. I have stayed at many hotels, many Best Westerns... This one was the worst I've ever been to.
