Build-A-Bear Workshop in Orland Park is a place where people of all ages can create their own unique plush toy by adding outfits, sounds, and scents. A particularly special feature is the ability to record a custom voice message, adding an extra personal touch. The store also hosts PAWsome parties for birthdays, office events, or community gatherings, which include a customized furry friend, a Special Heart ceremony, and games.
Many customers report a great experience, praising the very helpful, friendly, happy, and enthusiastic staff. Employees are frequently described as kind, patient, knowledgeable, thoughtful, and going above and beyond to assist, such as checking for specific items in the back or offering items from the display. The atmosphere is heartwarming, with customers noting it as a fun and surprisingly romantic experience that reconnects adults with their inner child.
However, some practical issues are noted. The store layout can be problematic during busy times, with a large bear display cited as obstructing the stuffing line and causing confusion. Additionally, several reviewers feel the prices are over the top, mentioning high costs for two bears and an extra charge for a cardboard box to take the plush toy home, which they believe limits the customer base. Some also note that previous interactive activities for kids, like a bathing shower, have been removed.
Amazing staff!!! It was my very first time here. Everyone was kind and patient with me. Toombs was very accompanying and helped me fix my voice box. Will absolutely come here again!!
