A Disappointing and Frustrating Experience.
I visited this FNBO branch today, traveling 50 minutes from Bolingbrook, IL to resolve an issue with my accounts. My experience was highly unsatisfactory.
While I was there, I noticed the teller, DJ, greeted other customers warmly but was unwelcoming towards me. He spoke in a harsh tone and did not ask me to sit down for a lengthy, sensitive conversation. After explaining my situation for 15 minutes and why i was there, just to confirm my identity with state issued id for one of the credit card and name change, he went to speak with his manager. He returned and eventually called the fraud department and they also transferred calls multiple times over a period of two hours.
The core issue was a clerical error on the bank's part. I had previously submitted my naturalization certificate, and the bank had successfully updated the name on one of my cards but failed to do so on the second. This led to my account being frozen, which was the reason for my visit.
The situation was eventually resolved by another representative, Joshua, who admitted the error was on the bank's end and confirmed a new card with the correct name has been ordered. The overall lack of empathy and professionalism from the staff, including a representative who closed her door during our conversation, was incredibly disheartening.
After being a loyal customer since 9 years. I am now seriously considering closing my accounts due to this poor customer service experience. It's disappointing that such a simple issue was made so difficult.

Everytime I go in this branch and there is a line the manager just sits in her office watching. She never helps out. Terrible management.

I have been by the bank a lot lately due to a land purchase. I’ve needed to do a few very large transfer and had them notarize some things. Everyone there is very helpful, professional and kind. Seriouly so very refreshing!

I have worked with FNBO for many years. They have always been friendly, helpful and professional. I have needed assistance at the Oswego, IL locations several times in the past year and they have been amazing. Angelica, in particular has been extremely helpful and always courteous. I can't imagine banking anywhere else.

I’ve had good experience with their 2% cash back credit card and enjoyed the $200 bonus. So when I saw a promotion for opening a new free checking account I thought this will be a good opportunity to try another product.The application online had some kind of glitch and when I called in the CSR mentioned he had at least two other calls about the same issue. He did offer to transfer me to see if they could resolve it but I said no problem there’s a branch not far and I’ll just go there. Well I didn’t realize it was 11 miles and they don’t support external bank ACH or Zelle??♀️The bank manager was great, I was done in minutes and I did get to see a lot more of Oswego than I would have otherwise. So it wasn’t a total fail.I’ll see how things go with my DD and ease of getting to an ATM when necessary, since I didn’t opt for checks. Thank goodness they do support mobile check deposit ? Again I assumed all banks honor external bank ACH transfers. 187 year old bank and no support for external bank ACH in 2022. Well I learned a new thing ☺️Overall I’m liking FNBO and their app is pretty cool too?

The people at the Oswego Illinois branch are as as good as it gets!!!! Now if I could only get someone at the corporate level help me solve a problem I would call them the perfect bank.

FNBO is awful! I had a family member pass recently who had a credit card with FNBO. I've called 4 times about getting it cancelled, each time the person asks me to fax to a number that doesn't accept faxes and then they tell me to scan and email but the email address is different each time.Discover on the other hand was a single call and email.I'll never do business with this organization!

All that I have dealt with in FNBO have been wonderful but I favor the Oswego branch on Orchard Road. They have my business accounts and personal accounts. I am constantly referring people to them. Absolutely wonderful!!
