Poor customer service by multiple employees! Went there for one thing and took over 15 mins inside the store trying to find help from a worker. The girl behind the register seemed like she could care less about her job. Do better!! I will spend my money elsewhere !

This store has none of the advantages you would expect of a small hardware store. The employees are not knowledgeable or helpful. The guy I talked to about keys refused to cut my key and also could not sell me a key to cut because he didn’t have it. He was no help at all and was oddly awkward in his interaction.
A different store in town had no problem cutting the keys for me.

I had an older gentleman wait on me, he couldn't find what I needed, he left me, to go help someone else, he mumbled something as he was walking away. I had to go look for him to help me again, I don't think he knows what he's doing.

I sent my mother to home hardware with a TV in her backseat that I was going to wall mount for my handicap niece. My mother recently had brain surgery and needs a hip replacement so I figured sending her to a small hometown business like this they would gladly come out to the car and assist her in finding the correct bolt size for the back of the tv. This was not a very large television just very difficult for my mother to carry with all her health problems. After I got off work and met her at her house and carried up the TV she was complaining of hurting and when I asked her why she told me this story. The reason I sent her to this business was for excellent service that you cannot get at a bigger store. That is exactly what she didn't get. I will never return to the store or purchase anything from it again. I'll save my money and get the same service (or possibly better) at Menards or Walmart next time. Its a sad day for small businesses ?.

We visited town today for the holiday festivities and stopped at our favorite Hardware store. The kids got two Charizard Ex cards in their Pokemon packs. How cool! We love Home Hardware and Ottawa.

They have a good selection, staff is always helpful. We use this store a lot for only small things now. The reason why I am giving 2 stars is because when someone says they don't need help means you don't need you following them around. Makes you feel like a delinquent and it makes them seem like a dirty car sales men!
