I thought this place was decently priced but I guess that's just the Peru location. This location wanted 15$ for used toys that weren't very much of why because kids highly recognize. It's the day before Thanksgiving and Christmas is around the corner, is that why your prices are so high?? I got an entire 1997 fisher price doll house for $10 with dolls and furniture mismatched at Peru in the middle of the year. I find these prices disrespectful and I won't be returning for some time what would cost 5 at Peru cost 15 at Ottawa ...not worth my time to even go in when Ottawa goodwill is nice

Wanted an item but needed to use the restroom. They don't have one for customers, so I just left. Clean, but you better not have to do a bodily function! ETA: yes, the signs are why I left instead of harassing your staff? I didn't bother asking for the toilet (JUST like the rude af sign said). If your building's plumbing couldn't keep up with THREE (3) employees, that sounds like your building may not be safe. If your building isn't safe, should your business be open to the public??

I am a long time shopper of lily pads in peru. I sometimes stop in this store same charity. However, they aren’t the same store. It almost feels like two completely different operations. Peru staff is also so welcoming , helpful ect. This store is rude from the moment you walk in. The no bathroom sign don’t ask sign is pretty much the rudeness. The prices they are almost double if not more than what peru charges. Even at half price the stuff sits there for months. The place is clean and organized. I only stop in every once in a while if I am in Ottawa. Lily pads too expensive also no bathroom which goes agains Illinois law. I have a medical condition and can have to on a whim. (410 ILCS 39/) Restroom Access Act.An up date. The prices are no where near what they are in peru. Not even CLOSE. As far as the Restroom There is literally a law.

Worst experience I've ever had. I let 3 people go ahead of us to make it less stressful. We took every item off of the hangers for them and all that was not enough to be disrespected and rudely met multiple times, first to inform me that they needed to finish checking ME out before they could help me with an item I wanted to buy. We mentioned multiple times the bigger item in our cart. They ignored it and then got uppity when we had to pay again for the item they forgot. Then I asked if they had gotten my frame, she snapped that I didn't tell them it was my item, they checked me out for a different item, overcharged me and then informed me that I didn't tell them again. I told them multiple times. This is the worst place I've ever been and I hope they go out of business. Shame on them. If I can find their board of directors I will be filing a formal complaint for this behavior which started 20 minutes BEFORE close when they turned off the light on us and about 6 other shoppers. There was absolutely no reason to treat us that way when they weren't doing their jobs properly. What a waste of $128, should have gone to the better one in Peru.

Emailed several times with some questions about donations I had and never got a reply. I guess they don't want my stuff.

Wow prices are ridiculous you get donated items for free and act like your an antique shop. a children's toy cradle was 50 bucks insane. It's a shame perus and Ottawas are totally different. This definitely is not to help the needy like it was intended to do.

The manager, Anna, is rude, has no business working with the public. First, she tried to rip off my 73 year old mother. Then called my mother a liar. Don't bring your items here because she is doing something unethical. They constantly throw away perfectly good, sometimes brand new items. She hassled me because I was retrieving things that should not be going to the landfill from their dumpster. She came out and called me a theif. I explained I'm not doing anything illegal! She called the police and claimed that she was using the dumpster to go through items to put back on the shelf. Then I was banned from the premises. She lied about items she said I took. I gave the police items she claimed she was still wanting to sell. But now she has employees breaking everything they are putting into the dumpster. The other day, I was driving down the road and she thought it cute to play games while driving. And was screaming cuss words and threatening me. I only know this women from shopping, spending $1000's at lilypads store. Then the issue with my mother, then this dumpster diving issue. Why she has such a problem with me is unknown. But beware, be cautious when donating because they throw much perfect, brand new items in the garbage. And now she has people breaking up the items. The concept of helping the pads shelter is wonderful. Having a crooked, rude, unethical manager that feels she can talk to and treat people badly is another. Why is this women in there well after closing? Is she taking items or reselling for herself? Is she messing with another employee? Just be careful and cautious when donating, selling or dealing with her. She is BAD NEWS! Just because she is the highest management does not give her the right to be so rude. Many people complain but nothing happens?
