Aside from the awesome amenities, the staff really is what makes this place great. The manager Aaron has such a personal approach and seems to know everyone that is part of this club. Not that I was on the fence but Aaron definitely was the swinging factor in me joining. Great gym and I can’t wait until the renovations are done!

Moving to the area & I decided to take a tour with Aaron C. Was super blown away with the facility! From the moment I walked in I felt at home! Aaron answered all questions and was super informative. Excited to start my fitness journey here! If you are looking for a tour ask for Aaron!!!

Overall this place is one of the nicest clubs ive ever been to. What sets them apart is the staff. I had a tour with Aaron and it was overall a great experience. Aaron was kind, welcoming, and knowledgeable. He worked through all of my questions and concerns. He was also very clear when he talked which helped me understand all of the important information about the club. Theres also a young man at the front desk who is always very helpful, inviting and kind. I signed up and haven’t looked back since. Great club with an exceptional staff.

If they weren’t so desperate I would have considered it. Multiple text messages, phone calls and voicemails. Not any great deals either. If you’re seeking me so heavily, why would a joining fee be a thing?Maybe a month free and waiving the fee but at this point it’s just annoying to keep seeing midtown pop up.

Joined 3 weeks ago, was not told about renovations. Current available equipment is a handful of weight machines and a couple ellipticals - you'll get 10x more at a planet fitness for $10/month. Basically everything is outdated, wasn't worth $170/month when the gym floor was open, much less now that nothing is accessible. They tried to talk me into not cancelling by saying I would be "guaranteed the $170/month price for a year" but I legit just signed a contract saying that so not sure at all how that was supposed to be a "selling point". Sales guy says the price in January will be over $220/month. Idk who is going to pay that for this place. Best of luck to y'all - glad to have gotten out of there.

This is an awesome place to go to for a club. Kidtown workers are very nice, (Stephanie, Sam, and some others I forgot their name) So you should totally get a membership here. The prices are totally worth it! I’ve been here since September 2022 and it’s really awesome and I go there every Monday because I go to tennis there and it’s really amazing! Also the indoor and outdoor pools, sauna, tennis courts, swimming lessons, Kidtown, and the café bar is really good. So I would 100% recommend this location!Sincerely,Nathaniel V (Nate)

Awesome place to exercise while the kids are entertained. Well-managed kids play area - I rarely if ever see my kids in front of the tv, they're always colouring or on the playset or playing with other kids. Great gym, lots of classes which I should take more advantage of. Nice safe and clean pools with lifeguards aplenty. 4th of July festivities were lots of fun. Great community, everyone is so nice to my kids.

Recent website re-do, intentionally made unusable if you aren't a member. You have to call the the front desk to register for classes. And when you call them, they don't know how to enroll for classes. Very much intentional run around!! If they think this is a business strategy to get people to sign up for membership, nothing more needs to be said about their business! Terrible! Going to the park district..

We all know the importance of a quality product, and Midtown Athletic Club delivers just that. From the cleanliness of the facility to the politeness of the staff, Midtown gets our vote and membership.

My husband and I joined midtown about 7mo ago. We primarily weight lift and do cardio. It's perfect for us since the gym/fitness floor itself is not that crowded as I think most people are drawn to the tennis club aspect, but again, it's telling that it is not that busy, even during their prime times..and it's obvious it is due to their inability to invest money in this location. They keep investing in areas that do not need to be changed. For example, they changed out the free weights to dumbbells that no longer have 2.5lb increments and are longer in size. Not great for all body types... they also changed out the shower heads (whoop de doo....). Meanwhile they have only 2 squat/deadlift platforms and 1 smith machine. You can go to other gyms (lifetime, crunch, etc) that have double the amount of platforms and pay a fraction of the cost and get the same amenities. Although we have made many friends and go everyday and love the staff, the price does not match up to the facility itself. They invest all their money into their Chicago location and it's starting to show. As a patron, I don't like knowing that your other locations fit the price tag, and this one doesn't.... Why should I continue to go here? The locker rooms can be cramped at times and are severely outdated. Brown carpet in the locker rooms? Yikes. Their cafe recently upped prices by about 40% on smoothies. The attendants take forever to make them and they don't even ask all the questions that you need for the order (i.e, what kind of milk, what protein flavor, etc.). It typically takes 10 min for 2 smoothies. Sort of annoying. I can drive home and make them in the same amount of time.... The pool is great and relaxing during the summer time, the steam room is great, basketball court is nice too. You have to pay $40 to reserve any tennis courts... and personal training is also too much based on what we already pay monthly (and knowing that midtown itself takes more of a cut instead of giving it to their staff). There's also no app for the gym, and their online reservation system doesn't account for pickleball and reserving the court numbers you want. My husband did a massage and loved it, but, that's really the only spa service they offer. Again, your other locations offer manis/pedis, hair services, etc.... Same with the other luxury gyms in the area. The gym ultimately has what I need, but the price tag is egregious based on comparable gyms in the area. There is no reason for us to continue our membership when we can go to another luxury gym and save close to $100 a month as a couple. If they don't up their game in 6 months, we're out.

The machines are fine here. The basketball court is ok. The pool and hot tub are great. The locker rooms are well attended. But the service overall is completely lacking for anything beyond a social club. The front desk and other attendants are polite but filled with apathy for actual customer service. After speaking with one of the GM's it's clear that it's a "top-down" issue. The local RECreation comPLEX is totally comparable in amenities and a steal at $25/$35 per month. The $140 per month savings over Midtown Palatine can literally pay for my own hot tub. Literally. Granted if I had my own hot tub it wouldn't be filled with scummy foam from the folks whom fail to shower before they get in the pool and I further wouldn't have to suffer the male Karen's conversations about what they think the problem with black people really is... I also wouldn't constantly find empty beer bottles in the spa and shower. Most of the people are nice. But that's pretty much everywhere. I thought here with the premium price I would get a better level of service.

MIdtown’s Palatine facility is great!! Whether you're into weight training, cardio, fitness classes, the health spa, yoga, tennis, basketball or swimming you will love the Club. I also thoroughly enjoy the cafe. The staff and trainers are awesome. Everyone is extremely helpful and very personable!!I highly recommend the Club. You will not be disappointed.
