Advocate Lutheran General Hospital is noted for its excellent staff and great teamwork across departments. The Emergency Room receives specific praise, described as great for children and staffed by some of the best doctors and nurses. Reviews highlight quick, effective responses in critical situations, with staff providing swift diagnosis and care that controls serious conditions like blood infections, leading to patient recovery. The psychiatric unit on the 5th floor is frequently mentioned, with staff recognized for working very hard at a stressful, thankless job to help people. The team there, including doctors, is credited with providing life-changing medication management and family meetings that contribute directly to patient success and long-term wellness. The Primary Care Companions (often called "sitters") in the ER also receive significant credit for providing comfort and conversation during difficult mental health crises. For surgical procedures, patients report a great experience from pre-op to post-op, with a seamless and doubt-free process even for stressful surgeries like laparoscopy. The staff is consistently described as amazing, patient, and making patients feel comfortable and at ease. The hospital also provides COVID-19 vaccinations and testing, with information available on its website.
Communication between registration and Ortho is horrible. This ER will check you IN and then forget about you. 5 hours later, Ortho sees you in the waiting area and asks why you're waiting. Then you will have to wait for a room to be available!

Great Emergency room for kids if you need to go to the hospital. They have some of the best doctors and nurses in the healthcare industry.

Great healthcare overall but didn't feel comfortable with employees wearing political symbols. This is highly inappropriate and unprofessional.
