They wrote a prescription for my 32 pound dog for the 25 pound and under heartgard. And on the prescription it clearly states my dog is 32 pounds. Petco won’t accept the prescription to order the meds even though it’s clearly a clerical error on the vet’s part and nowhere else will take it either. I called Vetco customer service and they said they can’t adjust the prescription and I have to go in for another Vetco clinic appointment and ask them to write a new prescription at the appointment. And I didn’t know they did it wrong until after my appointment because they don’t give you the prescription at the time of the appointment, it’s emailed to you later that day.
Edit: After I left this review, I was contacted and emailed the proper prescription. Thank you for that. I’m still leaving the review as is for the most part, but adding a star to it since they fixed the issue. While I appreciate you correcting the prescription, it shouldn’t take a 1 star review to get help— your customer service phone number should have been more helpful prior to the review.

I'll be back. I'm always worried about groomers after taking my dog somewhere where the lady cut him multiple times and left him terrified. These groomers did such a good job and were very kind and warm. I always appreciate welcoming and nice people. They took great care of my dog during the grooming and gave him a cute little bandana afterwards. I'm very pleased and will be coming back once a month.

i spent almost $200 on a turtle tank filter, heater, food and a new UVB bulb. The only things I'm happy with are the food and bulb. The filter does absolutely nothing, I have to change her water every couple days because it gets so murky I can't see her and reeks like a sewer, and the heater isn't doing anything at all. I would not recommend them at all, 0 stars. edit: almost forgot that I bought 5 minnows and 3 were dead by the time I went to bed, and the other two in the morning. no bite marks from the turtle, they just died.

I have spent decades in the pet trade the Pekin location is one of the best big box store locations I visit. Most big box stores are criticized for their lack of knowledge and animal care. This location has a knowledgeable and hardworking staff. I have witnessed Melinda takes her time to ensure individuals taking on a new pet know how to care for their animals. Sarah meticulously checks-in new arrivals and Hannah does thorough gravel vac of the system during water changes. Compare the Pekin, Peoria, and Normal locations. Pekin is clearly a cleaner and better maintained/managed store. This is my choice location to visit in Central Illinois.

The manager here is seriously the biggest problem with this place. My grandma was joking saying “I think your turtles stuck” and she snapped back and said “he’s not stuck” “nope”. She was rude and unprofessional. Not to mention no one greets you. They all act like customers are a Burden. Pathetic.

Walked in the door saw that manager previously mentioned that was rude to customers and workers was still employed there so I turned around and went to pet smart in ep ill continue to make that 20 min drive till said manager malinda is lo longer at that sore

Took our Dog (a black lab) to get groomed yesterday morning. She messed up his nails, barely brushed him if at all, he was whining when he got picked up and was limping from his his hurting (he has arthritis in them) we have never had problems here like this. We will not be coming back.

I take both my toy poodles to Petco in Pekin all the time and I am extremely pleased with the groomers there. They treat my dogs like they are their very own and make sure to take the time that they need so my babies are not stressed. I recommend Petco in Pekin and everyone of the groomers there. Lara and Brandy are the best.

My sister took her dog there. The groomer was very slow. Had an appointment for 2 and dropped pet off at 1:15 and at 4:47 called and was told that pet was just now getting worked on. Finally was done at 6:45. Quality of trimming is very poor.
