Wheel bearing noise is officially gone. Nice to drive without that humming. Last Chance is the best.

Heard grinding pulling out of Target on 59. Wheel bearings were completely shot. They replaced them fast and the car instantly sounded better and felt smoother. Appreciate how transparent they were about pricing, what had to be done and what could wait.

No A/C on the way to the Lake house up North! Stopped by cutting through South Naperville with and a toddler and kids melting down. Last Chance Auto Repair leak-tested, replaced an O ring and recharged my RAV4 within 2 hours. Vacation saver and $ well spent. THANK YOU!!!

Hard to find a mechanic shop in or near Plainfield that explains things in basic English. They did, and I approved the work with a simple text. Easy. 10/10+!

I swore it was a wheel bearing on my Subaru Outback making the noise. Their suspension repair check found a cracked sway-bar link and tired strut mounts instead. Cheaper fix no, but the clunk is gone and my ride sounds safe again. Got me done by the time I had to take the kids to their first day back at Plainfield Central High. Thanks Last Chance Auto Repair!

They replaced my shocks and struts last week. Car doesn’t bounce all over the Plainfield roads anymore. Appreciate the honesty.

Twenty years in town means I’ve tried a few places. For steady auto repair in Plainfield IL, Last Chance Auto Repair keeps earning us back. They send photos, call if something ends up more expensive (or cheaper) than quoted, and actually answer the phone (eventually). My old Taurus and our newer crossover both get the same respectful treatment. That consistency matters more than a coupon.

I see a lot of positive reviews in the last month so if this place is under new ownership, please advise. My experience was terrible.
My car was towed in non-running with no codes. I was running/driving on I39 when it just shut off. They had it for almost 7 weeks. There were many, many excuses…vacation, flu, family emergency, covid, phones were down, another vacation…I would have to reach out several times just to get a call back. I suggested several things it could be. There were never answers, just “ok I’ll ask the mechanic if they checked that”. I paid for diagnostics. They couldn’t figure it out. I asked for a printout of what was checked and done, tested and looked at but was told they have no system that can itemize that.
It was towed back home and the hood latch was broken so I couldn’t see the engine before signing the release that everything was ok (they actually made me sign that and pay my invoice before they would even drop it from the truck so all I could see was the body). Well we finally got the hood open and…holy Hell… there are pieces just thrown in there, several components completely detached, missing hoses, air filter just laying under the hood. We tried to start it twice after they returned it and it tried to actually start the first time so now we have no idea what damage was done!
Look- I paid to have my car towed in and back and to receive it not only with a broken hood latch but also without any proof that a diagnostic was even done (bc there is zero printout), let alone that my car was worked on (except to tear apart some of it) and NOT even put back together, just thrown under the hood and shut.
Add to that, the “little” stuff that I was able to see and upset about when the car was brought back before I could see the engine was ripped apart:
Missing Weathertech floor mats
Broken Weathertech cup phone
Fuse cover not replaced
Broken panel (to find fuses I guess)
Broken hood latch (that we just paid bmw dealership to fix 6months earlier)

Timing was ticking, literally. Last Chance Auto Repair tackled my Cadillac's timing chain replacement like pros. Honest mechanic shop that still calls after the diagnosis to break everything down and get an approval before the repair is started. Thanks Jam!

I just had my Cadillac's timing chain done and a multitude of other things at Last Chance and I couldn't be happier. Everyone there was very nice from a customer service standpoint and they did a most excellent job. Ensured me the cost and turnaround time. They actually, got it done a day sooner than expected due to the parts arriving sooner than later. The job was done quickly and efficiently, with a price included that didn't break the bank. I highly recommend this Plainfield repair shop to anyone looking for reliable high-quality vehicle service. I'll definitely, be back for any future work and recommend to all.
