I suggest avoiding them. They do not seem to prioritize customer care.

Poor customer service. If there is a number wrong on your address, they don't bother to call and double check it, they just return it to the sender.
Please avoid them, you'd rather use FedEx, they do their job in order to get the packages delivered, not returned.
Shame!

I'm cursed, every time I come here I get stuck behind some idiot shipping something to North Siberia or the Galapagos islands and it takes to them an hour to work things out with the clerk, and don't get me started on that- typically there's only 1 guy or girl behind the counter despite maybe like a line of 20 people nearly out the door.. god it must nice to be a government employee

I was appalled by the treatment I received at the Plainfield Post Office on July 3rd, 2024. I needed a document stamped, a simple task that should have been routine. However, the lady at the front desk was unable to assist me and had to ask for her supervisor. When the supervisor arrived, instead of resolving the issue, she informed me that they could not help and suggested I go to the Joliet Post Office instead.
What shocked me further was when the supervisor crossed out 'Plainfield' on my document. I tried to explain that as a taxpayer in Will County, my taxes support services in Plainfield, including the Plainfield Post Office. However, she insisted that they receive tax funds but refused to provide the service I needed.
This experience was not only frustrating but also DISRESPECTFUL. It's such a shame to encounter such an awful supervisor! I expect better service, especially considering that my taxes support the Plainfield community. If possible, I would rate this experience with ZERO stars.

With all the Identy Theft going on, It's kind of hard for me to believe that I had no mail in my P.O Box for a whole week. That Is Very Suspicious To Me.

Returned my package way before they were supposed to. All my other packages got delivered. The package did not required signature. They did drop off all the others exempt for one. Now I have to try to get my customized item to get redelivered by the deadline. This is beyond frustrating.

The process of getting our passports was a breeze. The wonderful lady was incredibly helpful and a very knowledgeable, jovial person. I also had a package to mail, and the man at the counter went above and beyond to ensure I had the correct postage for the dimensions of the parcel.

I can’t believe what incompetence customers service. I walked in Wednesday morning with no one in line to return some items for my wife This young lady was on her phone, I believe she was texting, I really don’t know, anyway she never looks up from her phone until she got full ready. She then looks up and said with a look like she didn’t want to be there. She said with somewhat an attitude, May I help you, I then said Yes you can. I truly don’t understand why why some people take on a customer service job, to be so unprofessional. I left home in a good mood. This lady drained me so bad. I complained to my wife, what a miserable person I just experienced. Greet people with kindness or go to the back and sort mails. I wish I could give a 0 star

We had an issue where we hadn’t received our daily mail for a while. I submitted a request using their contact form as it wasn’t overly urgent, just something we needed to address. I received a call from Sue at the post office probably within the hour (I was expecting 1-3 business days for the response). They quickly found the error, owned it and apologized, and resolved it the same day! Mistakes happen, I was blown away by the response time and resolution. Thank you Plainfield USPS for all the work you do that is often unrecognized!

This place is just as infected as any other post office. It’s a cesspool of entitled unionized workers who hide their horrible demeanor and unprofessional behavior behind their contract. They lost mail that was recorded in informed delivery. Their exact words were “we didn’t lose it, the post office did”….think about that for a minute. Postal workers are the worst government employees. I hope they don’t expect any public support the next time there is a budget shortfall or a union conflict.
