We were in need of a bathroom remodel and decided to hire Johnsons Carpet Shoppe to do the tiling for us. That was a mistake. While it brings me no joy to write this, I feel others should be aware of what they’re getting. We hired them to install a tile shower and floor. When they tore out the existing shower, they punched a hole through the wall into the kitchen. Not a big hole, but big enough that it’s going to require repair. There was no acknowledgement of it from them. When told about it, they shrugged and said they didn’t know how that happened, even though it’s obvious the hole was punched from the bathroom side. In the shower, the tiling work is sloppy. Tiles were not cut straight, spaces are not even, and here and there tiles stick out; they’re not flush. The niche we had asked for was not done properly. I was told it would have quartz edges to match the ankle ledge, but it wasn’t done that way, and the frame pieces of it were not done right. Water also pooled in it. The quartz ankle ledge was damaged, with a chunk broken out of the edge. The drywall they put in was not taped or mudded where it met the existing wall. They just filled it with black grout. Speaking of grout, the entire shower was over grouted and there was grout smeared on the walls. Surprisingly, with all of that grout, there were some places that were missed entirely. We called them back about these issues and got a lot of excuses. They didn’t want to replace the quartz ankle ledge because “it’s expensive.” They did not want to redo the niche, but grudgingly agreed to do it because of the water pooling in it. They did use the quartz on the ledge this time, and while it definitely looks better, the pieces still weren’t cut properly and there is silicone smeared all over inside it. There was also dirty grout water splattered on my walls that wasn’t cleaned up and they cut tiles on my living room rug with nothing underneath the tile cutter. I had to do a lot of the cleanup of this myself, like fixing the wall, scraping off excess grout, and caulking, etc. The only way to fix the shower is to tear it out and have it redone – a very expensive fix that is not in our budget. I've attached photos. All but one photo were taken when the job was finished, so you can see how they left it. I do not recommend them for tiling.

Get all your carpet, tile, linoleum, wood floors, here. They do backsplashes, and showers too! You don't need to go anywhere else, you only need this place. About the owners, Dana is really helpful and kind, and Jeff is just a little kid at heart. Give them a call!
