County Market is a small, family-owned grocery store with a history dating back over 100 years, starting in Quincy, Illinois. Known for their homemade foods, the store is famous for its delicious fried chicken, including juicy chicken tenders and flavorful wings, as well as their Texas Sheet Cake and made-from-scratch Meals to Go. The staff is generally friendly and helpful, and the store is kept clean and well-maintained, especially considering its small size and location in a small town. However, the shopping experience can vary. Some customers find the selection to be limited, with a somewhat outdated variety reminiscent of the 90s, and no vegan or vegetarian options. Prices tend to be higher than big box stores unless customers take advantage of sales or their "Max card" program. Some staff members are not very friendly, and the store can sometimes feel like it's struggling, with comments about rude cashiers or staff not always being helpful. The store has a small produce section and a limited selection overall. Additionally, customers should be aware that sales often require buying certain quantities, and sometimes advertised products are not available. The store occasionally suffers from disorganized displays or products past their expiration dates. Despite these issues, many appreciate the friendly staff and tasty food, especially the fried chicken, making County Market a local favorite for quality homemade foods in a small-town setting.
I did go in, but it's being remodel. So it's not going to be named County Market anymore. Under a new name I don't remember what. There is still 2 in Champaign Illinois

Very pricy and the older cooks (men) attitudes ate terrible. Other than that it's not a bad store. That seemed to be shortening up the store because they might be going out of business. I m not sure about it but it looks like it.

This was good while it lasted. Stop by if you are local and looking for a few miscellaneous items, they have reduced inventory sales.
